How Margot Robbie Prepped For Nude Scene With Leonardo DiCaprio
Margot Robbie admitted having to take a couple of shots of tequila to film her nude scene with Leonardo DiCaprio.
There are probably a lot of difficulties when it comes to being a professional actor, but sex scenes and nude scenes have to be near the top of the list. During a guest appearance at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts event (via the New York Post), Margot Robbie talked about what she had to do to get over the jitters of shooting a nude scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. Robbie spoke candidly saying, “I’m not going to lie, I had a couple of shots of tequila before that scene because I was nervous…very, very nervous.”
Margot Robbie’s method seems as good as any, especially when you consider that The Wolf of Wall Street was her breakthrough role, and she was working opposite an old pro like Leonardo DiCaprio. Robbie managed to nail her role in the movie, nude scenes and all, and the rest is history. Since then, she’s gone on to become one of the most in-demand actresses in the business.
Margot Robbie was undoubtedly a big part of The Wolf of Wall Street‘s success, along with the fantastic performances of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill. The always great direction of Martin Scorsese also helped to propel the film to commercial and critical success. Although the film didn’t manage to take home any Oscars that year, it did get nominated in plenty of categories.
It took six years for Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio to team up again, although their characters were very different this time around. The two appeared alongside Brad Pitt in the most recent Quentin Tarantino movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which did win a couple of Oscars for Pitt and the production design. Who knows when the two powerhouse actors will team up again, but clearly, it’s a winning formula that should happen more often.
In the meantime, Margot Robbie has a ton of projects in the works while Leonardo DiCaprio is teaming up with Scorsese yet again for his next project. Robbie most recently starred in the David O. Russell film Amsterdam alongside Christian Bale and John David Washington. Next, we’ll get to see Margot Robbie in the Damien Chazelle film Babylon, which has a star-studded cast that includes Brad Pitt, Jean Smart, Olivia Wilde, Tobey Maguire, Eric Roberts, and more.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s project with Martin Scorsese is titled Killers of the Flower Moon and it’s based on the book of the same name by David Grann. Killers of the Flower Moon follows the real-life story of the FBI investigating the mysterious murders of Osage tribe members in the 1920s. The project boasts a star-studded cast of its own that includes Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, Janae Collins, William Belleau, Jillian Dion, and Brendan Fraser.
You’ll be able to see Margot Robbie in Babylon before the year ends, as the film will be hitting theaters on December 23. If you’re wanting to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little longer, as it won’t be coming out until 2023.
