See Margot Robbie And Brad Pitt Go Crazy In Babylon
Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt go nuts in the trailer for Damien Chazelle's Babylon.
Paramount recently dropped a brand-new trailer for the upcoming comedy-drama Babylon, and it’s completely bonkers. The film, which is set in 1920s Los Angeles, features Barbie star Margot Robbie as an unhinged up-and-coming actress and actor Brad Pitt as an aging Hollywood icon. The two cross paths in Academy Award-winning director Damien Chazelle’s original epic, which is set to arrive in theaters just in time for Christmas.
Babylon, which is reported to have a runtime of over three hours, will present the chaos of the entertainment industry through the perspectives of an aspiring actress, a seasoned movie star, and a lowly assistant. Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie) will do whatever it takes to make it to the top, while Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt) is a veteran star who’s seen the best and worst of Hollywood. Manny (Diego Calva) strives to be part of something purposeful as he pursues a career in the film industry.
Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Diego Calva join an ensemble cast including Samara Weaving, Jean Smart, Olivia Wilde, Eric Roberts, Phoebe Tonkin, Lewis Tan, Max Minghella, and Tobey Maguire, who is also an executive producer on the film. Emma Stone was originally set to star as Nellie LaRoy, but she was forced to exit due to scheduling conflicts. Shortly after she departed the project, Robbie was cast in her place.
Babylon marks the eighth picture to be helmed by Damien Chazelle, who won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Directing for 2016’s La La Land. He also directed the 2018 biographical drama First Man, which starred Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the Moon. Although he’s collaborated with several high-profile actors over the course of his career, this is the first time Chazelle has teamed with Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.
Speaking of Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, Babylon will reunite the pair, who previously worked together on Quentin Tarantino’s critically acclaimed 2018 comedy-drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Robbie portrays Sharon Tate in the Oscar-nominated picture, while Brad Pitt turns in an Academy Award-winning performance as Cliff Booth. The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Emile Hirsch, Timothy Olyphant, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, and Bruce Dern.
Babylon is scheduled to release in theaters December 2023, and going by the new trailer, the movie looks like it’s going to be absolutely wild. While you wait to see what kind of trouble Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt get themselves into in the forthcoming feature, both stars have new movies available on demand. You can catch Robbie in the historical thriller Amsterdam, and Pitt headlines an all-star cast in the explosive action thriller Bullet Train.
Further out, Margot Robbie is set to appear as the titular character in Barbie, a romantic comedy based on the eponymous fashion doll line by Mattel. The upcoming feature serves as the franchise’s first live-action film adaptation. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt will step out of the spotlight to produce several forthcoming projects including The Three-Body Problem, The Tiger, and Wrong Answer.
