The Mandalorian season 2 trailer has been a long time coming. The hit Disney+ show has been widely embraced by hardcore Star Wars fans and mainstream audiences alike. Everyone has been waiting to get a look at where the series would go after its seismic season finale.

Watch The Mandalorian season 2 trailer right now:
Our two favorite intergalactic travelers are on a search for the mysterious Jedi. Will they find them and return Baby Yoda… er, the Child to the Jedi order before the season’s end? Who knows? What The Mandalorian season 2 trailer does tell us is that their journey will take us to even more unique locations for the Star Wars universe.
We have seen plenty of seedy bars and cantinas in Star Wars, but The Mandalorian season 2 trailer gives us our first look at a prize-fighting sports arena. Maybe one of the stranger but exciting shots is when Din Djarin and the Child are on a rickety old cargo boat during their travels. How has it taken us this long to see a rickety old cargo boat in the Star Wars universe?
Conspicuously missing from the trailer is Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), the big villain that was set up at the end of season 1. We got a look at him when the first photos from the new season dropped, but he isn’t anywhere in this trailer? Kind of mysterious if you ask us. Considering he ended the season by revealing the impressive and important Darksaber, it is a little weird for him to be totally missing from this trailer.
We do get a few brief appearances from other returning characters like Greef Karga and Cara Dune. And, of course, everyone’s favorite meme is back: Baby Yoda. The little cutie steals the entire trailer with an appropriately endearing moment before Din Djarin has to kill a bunch of dummies. We can likely expect more equally endearing moments from that charming puppet.
If The Mandalorian season 2 trailer is any indication, it looks like the show’s success has emboldened the production to get even more cinematic and epic with its scope. The scale of what we see here is even bigger than the already impressive first season. If the show’s second season is an even more outstanding success for Disney, the Mouse House could be considering the Disney+ treatment for even more parts of the Star Wars franchise.
