Mads Mikkelsen Joins A New Comic Book Movie As A Hitman
He's hungry for death!

Mads Mikkelsen just nabbed his next comic-book movie with The Black Kaiser. The Black Kaiser will see Mikkelsen reunited with his Polar director Jonas Akerland. The script is written by Jayson Rothwell and Mikkelsen. Fans of Polar will surely be happy to see this team reunite and to get more on-screen stories from this comic universe.
Polar was adapted from the Dark Horse graphic novel of the same name by Victor Santos. The Black Kaiser will see Mads Mikkelson returning as the world’s most lethal hitman. It’s unclear if this will be a sequel or prequel, but if they’re adapting the storyline from the comics, this movie will likely take place before Polar. In the movie, the Black Kaiser will discover a deadly syndicate of killers who make him their number one target. Production companies Constantin Film, JB Pictures, and Dark Horse Entertainment will help bring the movie to life with Martin Moszkowicz, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Mikkelsen as executive producers. No news on other cast members or if any of the cast from Polar will be reprising their roles.
Polar and The Black Kaiser weren’t Mads Mikkelsen’s first foray into the world of comics. He played the villainous sorcerer Kaecilius in the first Doctor Strange movie. With the sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness now in theaters, you can see the continuation of the story Mikkelsen helped to kick off. If you want to catch Mikkelsen’s most recent film, you can see him as Johnny Depp’s replacement in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Mikkelsen took over as the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. While there were more Fantastic Beasts movies planned, the most recent entry has not done too well at the box office. It’s unclear if we’ll be getting more of Mikkelsen in the Harry Potter Universe.
However, we’ll definitely get to see more Mads Mikkelsen in another major franchise, with Indiana Jones 5. Plot details and the role Mikkelsen will be playing are currently unknown, but it’s rumored that Mikkelson will be doing what he does best and playing the villain. Harrison Ford will be returning to reprise his iconic role and the rest of the cast will be rounded out by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Toby Jones, and Antonio Banderas. James Mangold is directing with a script from Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.
Finally, Mads Mikkelson will be participating in some more covert activities when he stars in The Billion Dollar Spy, which tells the true story of a man who becomes the most valuable spy for the Pentagon during the Cold War. Like Polar and The Black Kaiser, The Billion Dollar Spy will give Mikkelson the opportunity to be the hero in the film, instead of playing the villain as he so often does. Mikkelson can easily handle either role with aplomb, so it should be a great time catching all of his future roles, whether he’s the bad guy or not. There’s no word on a release date for The Black Kaiser, but there’s sure to be more news soon.
