Many film fanatics can surely relate to the star-struck looks of famed actors on the red carpet or tales told on late-night talk shows regarding celebrities meeting their childhood heroes while on the job. One such example, written up courtesy of Deadline, showcases Hannibal‘s Mads Mikkelsen fanning out over legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
Taxi Driver Is His Favorite
According to the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny actor’s interview, Mikkelsen blurted out the famous Taxi Driver monologue, in its entirety, to the filmmaker upon meeting him, in a cute but potentially humiliating display of his fandom.

Mads Mikkelsen And Martin Scorcese
While the two have not yet worked together on a major motion picture, Mikkelsen says he’s met the Killers of the Flower Moon filmmaker on several occasions and even exchanged numbers.

Learned Taxi Driver Speech In His 20s
Mads Mikkelsen, who just turned 58, says that he learned the entire speech from the Martin Scorsese film when he was in his 20s, and the words have remained deep within his memory banks ever since.
In the film, Robert De Niro portrays Travis Bickle, a socially stunted loner suffering from insomnia, which only drives him deeper into his blend of mental illness and exhaustion.
The 1976 crime noir film has long been touted as one of Scorsese’s greatest outings, alongside such cinematic classics as Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

While Mads Mikkelsen has yet to appear in a Martin Scorsese epic, the collaboration is surely coming.

In any case, there’s no telling what the future holds for the creative duo, as many fans worldwide would likely kill to see the inspired collaboration finally come to fruition.
