Loki Season 2 Will See The Surprising Return Of A Major Character
Loki season 2 will see the return of at least one of the Time-Keepers.
Fans recently got a sneak peek at what they can expect in the upcoming installment of Loki. It appears from a short release by Disney on Twitter that eager fans can expect at least one of the three Time-Keepers to return for the show’s second season. The stunning revelation came from Disney’s recently tweeted short video trailer, which shows viewers what they can expect from the Disney Bundle this year.
The trailer shows a small glimpse into Loki season 2. The single shot shows Loki stabbing into a wall on which a mural of the three Time-Keepers was painted. Additionally, the decapitated head of one of the puppets can be seen in the foreground.
With the series in the works since last June, fans have been anticipating who will return for the show’s second installment. Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Sophia di Martino (Sylvie), and Owen Wilson (Mobius) have all already announced their involvement in Loki season 2. Unfortunately, the season one director, Kate Herron, decided to part ways for the upcoming installment.
In February of 2022, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were chosen to direct the new season. The two have experience in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and directed two episodes of Moon Knight back in 2021. Along with head writer Eric Martin, fans expect Loki season 2 to be a huge success.
The show is anticipated to be released on Disney+ sometime over the summer of 2023, although the exact date is yet to be announced. Loki season 2 will comprise six episodes and will be part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Development of the show started way back in November 2020. It wasn’t until January 2021 that Disney signed a deal with season one writer, Michael Waldron. Filming on the series just wrapped up last October.
Many loyal fans have been trying to keep up with the second installment since the conclusion of the first back in July of 2021. However, much of what can be expected in Loki season 2 has been kept a secret. What has been revealed so far is limited, leaving fans to speculate.
Viewers can expect to see the return of many favorite actors and a chance for more development of some of the series’ characters. For instance, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who plays the stunning anti-hero Ravonna Renslayer, noted how fans can expect to see the new series delve further into the character.
The first season of Loki ended with the main character unstable and chaotic, leaving many guessing what will come next. Mike Waldron noted that there is still a lot to be told, explaining how the new season will explore the emotional side of Loki. Loki season 2 will feel very different from the previous installment yet still serve as a continuation of the story.
For many loyal fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are only speculations of what is to come. Disney’s short trailer gave only a small glimpse into what Loki season 2 will ultimately look like. Until then, fans will have to keep waiting.
