We still don’t know yet when we’ll be seeing Loki season 2 on Disney+, but the upcoming season is filming so we know new episodes are on the way. And now we also know that the new season will have some kind of connection to one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most poorly received films. According to new photos from location, Loki will gives us a connection to last year’s Eternals.

Over the weekend, Twitter user Sasha posted photos from London’s Noël Coward Theatre where Loki season 2 was filming. The photos show a number of movie posters of fictitious films, including one of the films starring Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo from Eternals. You can see that tweet below.

Fans who saw Eternals will no doubt remember that Kingo took a quite different path from his fellow Eternals. He chose to hide “in plain sight” by becoming one of the biggest Bollywood stars of all time, even playing a Bollywood version of his fellow Eternal Ikaris (Richard Madden). The poster which will appear in Loki season 2 is not only clearly from one of Kingo’s films, but Nanjiani himself has already shared it himself. You can see that post, from November, below.

Now, whether this is evidence Eternals will have a significant impact on Loki season 2 remains to be seen. Comic Book points out that previous leaked photos from the upcoming season have shown Tom Hiddleston’s title character and Owen Wilson‘s Mobius in formal wear, implying that those outfits could be from a visit to the theater pictured in the recent photos. So, the posters could just be one of the many Easter eggs Marvel’s movies and series are known for. There’s no obvious reason for the events of Eternals to impact Loki season 2, but who knows? With the sad state of affairs the heroes of Eternals find themselves in by the end of their movie, maybe Kingo will be tempted to mess with the timeline and Loki and Mobius will be there to stop him?

Kingo isn’t the only Marvel character with a movie poster in the Loki season 2 shots, and checking the other art out leads to some true comedy gold. One poster is for the eighties Thor villain Zaniac, known for possessing the bodies of the innocent and forcing them to commit horrible crimes. The other is of the ridiculous crimefighter the Phone Ranger; originally believed to have lived and died in 1985’s Marvel Age Annual #1 but who ultimately returned for the comics crossover event Civil War.

So far, we know little enough about Loki season 2 that speculating about any possible connection between it and Eternals seems fairly difficult. While it was initially believed to be a mini-series, the first season of Loki ended on a cliffhanger, with Sylvie murdering He Who Remains and Loki returning to the TVA to find the place changed and Mobius ignorant of his existence. It’s the death of He Who Remains that leads to the branching of the Sacred Timeline into many timelines, essentially giving birth to the Marvel Multiverse. What this means for Loki season 2 is anyone’s guess.
