Lindsay Lohan Joining Marvel?
A new rumor says that Lindsay Lohan could have a Marvel Cinematic Universe role in her future. According to US Magazine, Lohan is in talks to play a “vixen superhero.” This is a pretty ambiguous description, so that leaves the door open for a lot of possibilities.
A New Jean Grey?
The most natural assumption would be that Lindsay Lohan would be joining Marvel as one of the X-Men, which many people are assuming will be properly introduced through the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie. If Lohan ends up playing one of the X-Men, there are plenty of characters she would be a good fit for. The first that comes to mind would be one of the X-Men’s most powerful mutants, Jean Grey.
Lindsay Lohan definitely looks the part for Marvel’s Jean Grey, and the acting chops would definitely qualify her to take on such an important role. Jean Grey often plays a central role in some of the biggest X-Men storylines, especially the Dark Phoenix saga. It would be a great chance for Lohan to flex her range if she got a chance to play both sides of Jean Grey if the MCU attempts to adapt this storyline like previous X-Men movies.
An Early Wanda Contender?
Lohan was rumored to be up for the role of Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, at one point, but the part instead went to Elizabeth Olsen. Scarlet Witch has played a major role in the recent MCU, and Jean Grey could certainly have an equally big part in future storylines. Lohan herself has expressed interest in doing a Marvel film multiple times, so there are definitely reasons to believe that this MCU role could come to fruition.
Other Mutants She Could Play
If Lindsay Lohan doesn’t play Jean Grey, characters like Mystique or even Emma Frost would also be good fits for her. While these characters are more morally ambiguous and not always referred to as “heroes,” they would still be good possibilities for Lohan. Fans have some guesses as to who she could play too, with Reddit suggesting she may be cast as Tigra.
A More Feline Hero?
Tigra isn’t quite as well-known by non-comic fans as Jean Grey and Mystique, but she’s an important character – especially if the MCU plans to introduce the West Coast Avengers at some point. Tigra is a character that is mutated into a tiger-like human who has tiger-like powers. The MCU is no stranger to introducing lesser-known characters in the movies, and Lindsay Lohan would be a big enough name to get people interested in the character.
Lohan’s Recent Work
With that being said, there are a ton of uncast X-Men roles right now, so there’s nothing to do now but speculate. In the meantime, fans can catch up with Lindsay Lohan’s recent work in the Netflix film Falling for Christmas from 2022 and her cameo in the Mean Girls reboot that came out in January. Lohan has also been in the voiceover booth for roles in shows like Devil May Care and Lovestruck High.
Lohan also recently confirmed that Freaky Friday 2 with Jamie Lee Curtis is on the way.
