Lily Collins To Play Alleged Rapping Crypto Scammer
Lily Collins will play life the real life Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein in Netflix's Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street.
Actor Lily Collins has seen her star on the rise after a breakthrough performance on the hit Netflix series, Emily in Paris, where she plays a marketing executive from the United States trying to make it in the high-profile French space. Collins has fared very well it seems with turns in romantic comedies and dramas on Netflix, which has included Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile alongside Zac Efron, but it’s her starring role as Emily Cooper that seems to have gotten the actor a lot of attention from streaming viewers. Now, it appears Collins is signing up for another streaming platform as she is set to star in a new project entitled Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street, where she will play a dastardly real-life character that has an alter ego rapping on YouTube.
According to a report by Deadline, Lily Collins will take the lead in Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street, a true crime limited series that is developing at Hulu. Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street will take Collins in treacherous territory as she plays Heather “Razzlekhan” Morgan, one half of a scheming duo who billed themselves in real-life as the geniuses who crafted one of the biggest crypto heists in history, all the while Morgan establishing herself as a rapper with a YouTube page to boot. Many believe that the pair may not have been smart enough to pull off such a heist, instead defining them as low-level entrepreneurs who most likely accidentally came across a hard drive that contained $3.6 billion in cryptocurrency Bitcoin that was apparently stolen from the well-known Finex exchange.
There have not been any other casting announcements yet on Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street, so it is not evident who will play opposite Lily Collins in the true to life role of Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein, the other half of the criminal team. However, Collins’ real-life husband, Charlie McDowell, has been tapped to direct and produce the project for Hulu, after their successful collaboration on the Netflix film Windfall premiered on the streaming service platform in 2022 costarring Collins, Breaking Bad actor Jesse Plemons, and How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segel.
Lily Collins seems to be striking while the iron is hot these days with projects that see the actor in varying ranges from comedy, drama, and thrillers, including the upcoming circus-themed movie Halo of Stars. The hit Netflix series Emily in Paris is coming back for season three soon as production started on the newest season in Paris, France earlier this summer, and Collins is preparing to join the cast of a new film with her husband yet again taking the director’s chair called Gilded Rage, costarring It actor Bill Skarsgard and Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz. Her frequent collaborations with husband Charlie McDowell have proven to be very fruitful for the couple, although Razzlekhan: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street appears to be their first project to hit Hulu instead of Netflix, which is a change of pace for the A-list couple.
