First off, huh? Secondly, WTF? In what could be filed under the “are you serious?” category, world-famous (he must be with what he spent on this), 26-year-old Philadelphia-born Symere Bysil Woods, a.k.a. rap artist Lil Uzi Vert, has just turned himself into a real-life Marvel’s Vision by getting a (hope you’re sitting) $24 million pink diamond implanted in his forehead.
For many of us, it’s hard to fathom, though according to the style-of-his-own rapper, he wasn’t able to purchase the stone outright. “I’ve been paying for a natural pink diamond from Elliot for years now. This one Stone cost so much I’ve been paying for it since 2017. That was the first time I saw a real natural pink diamond. A lot of M’s in my face,” Lil Uzi tweeted out.
It didn’t take long for the internet to explode with Marvel fans jumping to the forefront. One read, “Dude really went from Lil Uzi Vert to Lil Uzi Vision.”
Another hinted at what a Wanda and Vision child would resemble, “So this is Wanda And Vision’s child?”
And at $24 million, others made their jokes, “Somebody gon try to snatch that shit like Thanos did Vision.”
Even Thanos got in on it, “Thanos looking at Lil Uzi Vert like.”
But as they sometimes say, not all is good in the hood. While Lil Uzi, at first, was showing off his new bling, things took a turn for the worse, a bloody turn at that. Seems the embedded pink diamond is already giving off a Thanos effect as the rapper took to Twitter, posting a gruesome selfie with blood pouring from the diamond. The now-deleted picture included the caption, “If I don’t get it took out the right way, I could die…, No seriously.” His fans immediately responded calling for the rapper to get the diamond removed immediately, many fearing for his life. A few hours later, Lil Uzi was back tweeting a cleaned-up face and telling all, “Ok we good. I’m literally tryna turn into a diamond.”
It is not clear which procedure, microdermal or transdermal, that Lil Uzi Vert went under to have the $24 million stone implanted into his forehead. The microdermal would be a less invasive procedure and would heal much like a regular piercing would heal. The transdermal is much more invasive but would also be a much safer route in preventing the diamond from falling out. Blood pouring from it is not a good look though.
Also, in question by many jokers is how the diamond is set in his forehead. Looks to be a little off-center. Rather than Lil Uzi Vert having it lined up with his face tattoos and his nose, the diamond leans to the right. While it has been pointed out countless times, Lil Uzi took to social media chiding the jokers. “Y’all keep talking about it’s off, it still has a long bar in it so it can move ‘cause of the swelling,” he explained. “When it goes down, it gon’ be right there.”
As far as Lil Uzi’s pink diamond itself, the rapper says it weighs in between 10-11 carats and is his biggest purchase to date. “Yes, my Bugatti can’t even pay for it … all my cars together, plus home, this took so long now I can get this money.”
