Since 2017, Kevin Spacey has seen the career that he knew totally upended following numerous sexual misconduct accusations. He recently won a legal victory in 2023 regarding several of these cases. And it seemed like he was clearing his name. However, it has now been announced that a new docuseries will be released this week focusing on claims from other individuals against Spacey. And Spacey is firing back, feeling the move is a ratings ploy.

The docuseries will begin airing on May 6. Kevin Spacey feels he should have been given more time to prepare and share what he feels could be information meant to refute some of the claims.

The docuseries will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK and on Max in the United States. It is said to share anecdotes from several individuals unrelated to the legal case in which Spacey saw his recent victories in 2023.

No Time To Respond

Taking to Twitter/X to share his disapproval of the network’s handling of the situation, Spacey said, “I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings. There’s a proper channel to handle allegations against me and it’s not Channel 4.”

Kevin Spacey felt it would have only been proper for the network to allow him more time to put together a response to the situation, but the network responded saying that they gave him adequate time.

Spacey Unmasked

The docuseries will be titled Spacey Unmasked and will air over May 6 and May 7. The description for the episodes says it will feature stories from a variety of men who have had their own negative interactions with Kevin Spacey but who have not spoken publicly until now.

Neither the identities of the individuals involved nor what they will be sharing have been divulged at this time.

Responding On X?

Regardless, Kevin Spacey has made it clear that he believes he will be able to disprove whatever might be said. “Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated,” he said on his social media.

He also made it clear that he does indeed plan to respond after viewing the docuseries for himself. “Tune in this weekend to see my response on http://X.com/kevinspacey. Channel 4 and @RoastBeefTV may find themselves ‘speechless’, but I no longer will be.”

Earlier Court Cases

Kevin Spacey clearly hoped that his scandals and damaged reputation would have been a thing of the past following his victories in his court battles. But apparently, there is still a long road ahead.

In the British court case, a jury found Spacey not guilty on nine different charges after dismissing three others. It is too early to say if what will be revealed in the docuseries could lead to more legal ramifications.

Return To Hollywood?

Kevin Spacey had begun to make more public appearances of late following some of his legal wins. This includes winning a $40 million civil lawsuit in 2022 brought against Spacey by Anthony Rapp for sexual battery.

Rapp was the original accuser in 2017 which led to Spacey losing roles like his lead in House of Cards. Whether these legal triumphs would have led to renewed acceptance from Hollywood is unclear. If that career path is still something Spacey desires, he will first have to deal with whatever comes from Spacey Unmasked.
