Kevin Feige Shot Down A Big She-Hulk Idea
She-Hulk writer Jessica Gao initially wanted the Marvel boss himself, Kevin Feige, to appear on screen in his K.E.V.I.N. bot cameo, but the studio president quickly shot down that idea.

It’s safe to say that ‘Kevin Feige appears as a sentient AI in the season finale of She-Hulk‘ probably wasn’t on too many people’s MCU bingo cards, but the show went there. The Direct recently reported on head She-Hulk writer Jessica Gao’s appearance on the Phase Zero podcast, where she revealed that she actually tried to get Marvel’s head honcho himself to voice the AI, but Feige ended up turning down the idea. So, it does seem like the K.E.V.I.N. bot we met is the closest we’ll get to a Stan Lee-like cameo from Feige.
Apparently having Kevin Feige voice K.E.V.I.N. wasn’t the only idea that got nixed in the writer’s room for the She-Hulk finale, as Gao went into further details about variations they had before landing on the AI version of Feige. Apparently, there was a version where he was played by a suave gentleman like Jon Hamm or George Clooney. Gao realized that she had gone too far when she suggested that Feige be played by a puppy before being reeled back in by a fellow writer, saying “And then, [one of the writers], Zeb Wells, just lost his mind and… jumped out of his seat, started screaming at me and was like, ‘What are we talking about here?! Kevin’s a puppy?”
While it would have been shocking to learn that a puppy was the mastermind behind the interconnected blockbuster juggernaut that is the MCU, the AI Kevin Feige does seem like the best choice. True to the comics, Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters truly broke the fourth wall in the finale, jumping through the Disney+ UI to end up on a Marvel lot and confront the Kevin AI about how her story was playing out. The fun sequence also includes Jennifer name-dropping the X-Men in the MCU for the first time, with the AI providing a frustrating non-response.
As fun as it was to see the Kevin Feige bot join the MCU, it seems unlikely that we’ll be seeing it again. In the episode, the AI says that the Disney+ error has been fixed, so She-Hulk won’t be hopping over to the Marvel Studios HQ anytime soon. Really, the only other fourth wall breaker coming to the MCU is Deadpool, so unless he ends up meeting the Kevin bot, we might be able to assume that this is a one-time thing.
In the meantime, the real Kevin Feige is making sure the MCU train continues to chug along. The chief of Marvel Studios took the Comic-Con stage back in July for the biggest Marvel announcement in recent memory when he revealed Phase 5 and Phase 6 of Marvel’s planned releases. Part of this huge announcement was the announcement of the next big Avengers films with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Kevin Feige went on to mention that the Avengers movies would wrap up what is being considered the Multiverse Saga, which finally gave a name to the follow-up of the Infinity Saga. While we wait for those Avengers films, we have the next big Marvel blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming out on November 11. After that, you can watch the final entry to Marvel’s Phase 4 when The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special comes out on November 25.
