Keanu Reeves looks like he is set to join Leonardo DiCaprio in the latter's next big production which is coming to streaming in series form

Keanu Reeves is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood and for good reason. By all accounts, he’s fantastic to work with and his flicks are often blockbusters. That being said, most of what he’s done on screen over the last few years has been of the action variety. But that could be set to change and there is word that he could be joining a highly-anticipated production with some of the industry’s best involved. Deadline is reporting that Keanu Reeves is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio in Devil in the White City. It would be a different kind of production than we’ve seen Reeves get involved with lately.
While not confirmed that he is joining the series, it appears Keanu Reeves is further along in the negotiation process right now and they might be nearing the finish line if this report is accurate. Reeves joining on would add even more star power to the production which has been at varying stages of development for more than a decade now. Leonardo DiCaprio is producing after purchasing the rights to the original book and Martin Scorcese will be both producing and behind the lens for at least one episode. The series will debut on Hulu and marks yet another shift in the streaming and production trajectory with major (major!) names now entering the series/ television space.
While it hasn’t been officially reported about specific roles for the series, there is some chance we see Leonardo DiCaprio and Keanu Reeves up on screen together for this one. The story is based on the book of the same name by Erik Larsen. It’s a true account of the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. The story is told through two different characters. One is Daniel Burnham, the architect tasked with staging the fair and all of the designs that would go into making it a true spectacle. The other is H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who racked up bodies during the events of the fair. He constructed a house of nightmares in which he would lure unsuspecting people. The book is almost too wild to be true, making it that much more intriguing. If both Keanu Reeves and Leonardo DiCaprio were involved on screen, it would stand to reason they would be playing these two.
Though Devil in the White City was originally planned as a movie when DiCaprio bought the rights, the idea shifted to a series when Hulu got involved with the production. In the past, stars of this caliber like Keanu Reeves wouldn’t have likely considered a role in a miniseries, but the landscape around projects has completely changed these days. Now, with the proliferation of streaming services and huge dollars pumping through the ecosystem, there is becoming a smaller and smaller distinction between the big and small screen. It’s only a win for viewers.
As for Keanu Reeves, before he possibly takes part in Devil in the White City, we know that there is still time to catch him in theaters with his latest flick. That was a return to the simulation in The Matrix Resurrections which was released a couple of weeks ago. The meta look at the franchise was a welcome return to this world and reset some of the timelines from the original trilogy.
