Not every villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets a second outing. Most of them get killed off by the end of the movie, but we have confirmation that Kathryn Hahn will return as Agatha, even though we pretty much already knew it was happening.
Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige spoke about the WandaVision villain that Kathryn Hahn brought to life. In classic fashion, he gave a brief tease when asked about when we will see her next.
“Someday. Someday soon. You will see Kathryn Hahn in Knives Out 2 next, then maybe an assortment of other things. But within the MCU, it can’t come soon enough. Let’s put it that way.”
With how the franchise is set up currently, we can see Kathryn Hahn appear in almost any movie or TV show. Based on the ending of Loki, that show and WandaVision will tie in with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so she could be a surprise waiting for fans. It will match having Elizabeth Olsen appear in the movie as she expands her knowledge of her powers as she has become the Scarlet Witch.
Kathryn Hahn won’t be much of a threat based on her entrapment and being powerless when Wanda won their fight. She will need some help, but if we speculate for a moment, she could get a hand from a secondary villain. Unless she has a trick up her sleeve that we don’t know about. Anything is possible in the genre as characters cheat death, come back as variations of themselves, or get broken out of an underwater prison. Regardless, she was kept alive for a reason, and Marvel will have her in their vault of living antagonists who can bring the pain to any of the Avengers.
We do know the door is wide open for potential things to happen in the franchise. The ending of Loki has had the most dramatic effect on the universe out of the shows so far. Going all out with multiverses and one of the most menacing foes being introduced with Kang the Conqueror means that anything is possible. The next Doctor Strange will have heavy connections to Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston’s individual shows, along with Spider-Man 3: No Way Home; the danger is coming on a galactic scale, which might include Kathryn Hahn as Agatha.
The Marvel leader does not always tease things like this. Normally, he keeps things closed off until it is the right moment to press on the gas for an upcoming project that is on the horizon to release. If it really “can’t come soon enough” for Kathryn Hahn, then we will not have to wait long for answers. Of everything that she could appear in, No Way Home releases on December 17 and Multiverse of Madness on March 25. If someone has other theories of where she might reappear, then keep track of your calendar for all of the upcoming Marvel shows and movies.
To see Kathryn Hahn as Agatha and how Loki could potentially let her come back, you can watch both of those Marvel TV shows on Disney Plus.
