It sounds as if the bounty hunters’ popularity in the Star Wars sector of Disney+ is going to continue to dominate and be a part of the 2022 plans and beyond. On top of the highly popular series, The Mandalorian, the Book of Boba Fett has launched on the streaming platform and is already being regarded as an incredible seres. Now, through a since-deleted tweet, it appears as if Katee Sackhoff is getting her own spin-off series revolving around fan-favorite Bo-Katan. This is certainly good news, especially for Sackhoff, and for the tie-in potential for both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Katee Sackhoff appeared as Bo-Katan in both the CGI animated The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Fans were elated when she actually appeared as the live-action version of the bounty hunter in The Mandalorian, and through her brief couple of episodes, it appears as if that was enough for Disney to greenlight her own series. She has been playing that character for quite a while, and going deeper into her quest for the Dark Saber would be quite fantastic. At the very least, more background of where she has been since “the great purge” would also be quite an interesting storyline to follow. Through the years, it is likely Bo-Katan has come into contact with some very powerful people in the deep Star Wars lore, so any way in which she is involved with the universe is going to be quite interesting.
Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec Shand in The Book of Boba Fett, posted on Twitter, congratulating Katee Sackhoff for the new series announcement. She quickly deleted the announcement as it was likely that Disney was not prepared to let that detail out in the world just yet. Of course, fans were able to screenshot the tweet before it was deleted. With the not-so-official announcement of a Bo-Katan series, it sounds as if the plans for Star Wars content on Disney+ are a pretty massive. The Rogue One prequel series, Andor, is set to air in 2022. That joins the lineup of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, The Mandalorian season 3, Ashoka, and The Acolyte, which is currently being worked on.
Katee Sackhoff is likely to be signed to Disney for the foreseeable future if she is truly to have her own Bo-Katan series, so maybe she will meet Din Djarin in battle at some point. This will be to reclaim the saber that she believes to be her right, as the current leader of the Mandalorians, and Djarin is a bit of a lone wolf. Now that the series has taken place in the time in which we got to see a de-aged Luke Skywalker, the potential for more original trilogy characters to appear is even more exciting. We all want to see Harrison Ford return as Han Solo in the same way that we all lost it when we saw Mark Hamill return. It is likely that we all have to wait for the Katee Sackhoff lead Bo-Katan series, but the fact that it is has been unofficially added to the lineup of Star Wars news should make anyone excited. Who knows, maybe she might appear in The Book of Boba Fett.
