Kate Beckinsale Shocks Fans After Health Scare
Kate Beckinsale is on the mend after a recent, unspecified health scare. On May 19, the actress shared videos of herself doing yoga on Instagram.
The stories and grid posts were accompanied by emoji-filled captions. “I love it! I practiced a little vinyasa yoga today,” she wrote in response to a comment. I normally run and strength train, but I love yoga and meditation too. It’s so good for the body and soul.”
Kate Beckinsale made her first red-carpet appearance since revealing an unspecified health issue earlier this year. On May 2, the actress attended the inaugural King’s Trust Gala in New York City, looking stunning in a shimmering white gown. In March, the actress shared several since-deleted Instagram posts of herself in a hospital bed without providing details about her condition.
She hinted at stomach issues in a post from April 17 featuring a “Tummy Troubles Survivor” t-shirt but denied being treated for a ruptured cyst or endometriosis. At the gala, Kate Beckinsale acknowledged that it had been a challenging year, with her parents and cat also facing health issues. She praised King Charles III, who was unable to attend, for being “really open” about his recent cancer diagnosis.

According to various unconfirmed reports, her hospitalization lasted at least a month. Despite the health scare, Kate Beckinsale remains unbothered by the aging process and has pushed back against bullying and accusations of plastic surgery on social media. She attributes changes in her appearance to aging and makeup trends rather than surgery, Botox, or fillers.
Kate Beckinsale is currently involved in several projects. The first is Canary Black, an upcoming action thriller directed by Pierre Morel, known for films like Taken and Peppermint. The movie stars Beckinsale as Avery Graves, a top CIA operative who is blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her country to save her kidnapped husband.
The plot follows Avery (Kate Beckinsale) as she is cut off from her team and turns to her underworld contacts to survive and locate the intelligence the kidnappers want. Betrayed at every turn, she must rely on her training and fighting skills in a deadly race to deliver a ransom that could trigger a global crisis.

Principal photography on the Kate Beckinsale-led movie began in January 2023 in Croatia. The screenplay is written by Matthew Kennedy, who previously worked on Inheritance. Producers include Sebastien Raybaud, John Zois, Carsten Lorenz, Renee Tab, Christopher Tuffin, Jeff Elliott, and Marina Grasic.
Anton, Brickell & Broadbridge International, and Oakhurst Entertainment are financing Canary Black. The film is currently in post-production and does not have a confirmed release date at this time. Kate Beckinsale has also landed the lead role in the upcoming kidnapping drama Stolen Girl, which is based on the true story of an American woman named Maureen Dabbagh.
The film, directed by James Kent, will also star Scott Eastwood and James Cromwell. The story follows Maureen (Kate Beckinsale), whose six-year-old daughter Amina was abducted by her ex-husband in 1993 and taken out of the country. After years, Maureen eventually tracks her daughter down in Beirut with the help of a professional who specializes in recovering abducted children.
The film will show Maureen having to make “the most difficult decision of her life” when faced with her ex-husband again. Stolen Girl will be filmed in Italy, with a budget of approximately $26 million. The movie is currently in pre-production.
