The gang’s all here! New and old cast members alike scrunched together to snap a selfie on the set of Jurassic World Dominion which actress, Bryce Dallas Howard then shared with followers via her Twitter account. The image revealed the cheesing faces of fan favorites from the original franchise, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill posing alongside Jurassic World stars, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as new to the dino gamers, Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise. Crushed in between the cast is returning director, Colin Trevorrow, who after passing the baton to J.A. Bayona for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be back to direct the latest installment in a world where dinosaurs roam free. It is worth noting, however, that Trevorrow did leave his mark on the second film in the Jurassic World franchise as a writer and executive producer.
The photo was a welcome sight to fans who have long awaited more looks and information surrounding the film, which is slated for a release date of June 10, following some debut delays. Jurassic World Dominion will pick up four years after the devastating events that took place during Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. For a refresher, the end of Fallen Kingdom saw the release of the dinosaurs with no hope in wrangling them back to their cages. The final moments saw the U.S. Senate hearing in which humans were told they would need to live side by side with the prehistoric creatures and just, you know, make it work! In Dominion, viewers will see just how well that’s working out for everyone. We’ll see humans and dinosaurs’ lives clash together and find out who comes out on top.
Jurassic World Dominion marks a very special happening for franchise fans who have long awaited the return of their favorite OG’s, Dern, Neill, and the elusive Goldblum. The film will mark the first time the three, who play Ellie Satler, Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm (respectively), will come face to face with new dinosaur handlers, Owen Grady (Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Howard). It seems a little late to bring the tyrannosaurus threesome back in to help save the world, but better late than never! Goldblum has appeared in the franchise most recently of the trio, with a few scenes in Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom. More time has passed for Dern’s Ellie and Neill’s Grant as they both chose to take their roles back on in Jurassic Park III way back in 2001.
With everyone flashing smiles on set, it looks like our favorites are getting along and are just as thrilled as we are to see Jurassic World Dominion making its way towards its big summer premiere. While we’ve had one official trailer released so far, not much else has been revealed surrounding the excitement we can expect when the T-Rex stomps around the Earth once again. Hopefully, the cast will continue to share their behind-the-scenes photos while we await more teasers and first looks as they roll out in the upcoming days.
