See First Look At Jujutsu Kaisen Episode That Will Change The Series
The second season of the highly popular Jujutsu Kaisen kicked off just a few weeks ago, but we’re already approaching the end of the first arc of the season. The Gojo’s Past arc will wrap up with the fifth episode of the season, and the Premature Death arc will be subsequently kicked off in the same episode. In other words, a lot is going to go down, and a dynamic yet brief teaser was released ahead of the episode’s August 3 release date.
A teaser has been released for Jujutsu Kaisen‘s upcoming story arcs.
The highly-anticipated Gojo’s Past arc of Jujutsu Kaisen adapted the storyline from Gege Aktumi’s manga, which explored a mission from Satoru Gojo and Suguro Geto’s past when they attended Jujutsu Tech. The mission involved escorting the ‘Star Plasma Vessel’ Amanai Riko to merge with Tengen, an immortal entity in the jujutsu community. The end of this mission will reveal how Gojo and Geto ended up going their separate ways and following very different paths.
The entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is expected to take place over the course of 23 episodes, with confirmation that the season will take place over the course of two consecutive cours.
As always, MAPPA is putting out top-notch animation to bring the Jujutsu Kaisen animation to life. It’s been a great year for MAPPA, who has released both the critically acclaimed and gorgeously animated Vinland Saga Season 2 and most of the final season of Attack on Titan this year. MAPPA was also recently announced as the animation studio that will be taking on the new Lazarus anime from Cowboy Bebop creator Shinchiro Watanabe.
If you haven’t caught up with the first four episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, you can stream them on Crunchyroll along with the first season of the series and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. While there are dubbed episodes released alongside the simulcast of the new episodes, they are lagging about two weeks behind the subs. If you prefer to watch the dubbed version, you’ll have to wait a bit to catch up on this episode.
Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen can be streamed on either Crunchyroll or Funimation.
The entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is expected to take place over the course of 23 episodes, with confirmation that the season will take place over the course of two consecutive cours. The first cour covers the Gojo’s Past chapters of the manga, which is part of the overall Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc. After that arc ends in the upcoming episode, the Shibuya Incident arc will kick off in the sixth episode of the season, and the rest of the season is expected to contain 18 episodes.
Unfortunately, Jujutsu Kaisen fans will have to wait patiently for the sixth episode and the start of the Shibuya Incident arc, as it won’t be airing until August 31. In the meantime, the series will be taking a quick hiatus and airing a recap of the movie on August 1 and a recap of the first season on August 17. If you hate recap episodes, you’re probably good to just watch the upcoming episode and wait until August 31 to tune in again.
If you haven’t seen the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, you can also stream it on Funimation. However, you’ll need Crunchyroll if you want to check out newly aired simulcast episodes of the second season. Stay tuned for more news on Jujutsu Kaisen and other 2023 animes.
