For those who have been long awaiting updates surrounding Jordan Peele’s newest horror flick, Nope, we’ve got some great news for you. Today, a teaser was dropped for the director’s upcoming film and we have it here for you to check out. Starring in the new feature, is a strong list of talent including Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott.

In the teaser, which is less of a peek at Nope and more of a reminder of some of the fantastic content Jordan Peele has brought us so far, viewers watch as a montage of Peele’s past movies, Get Out and Us, roll while the Luniz song “I Got 5 On It” plays in the background. Fans of the director’s film, Us, will remember the tune as a focal point throughout the thriller. At the end of the teaser, fans finally get a look at a few short seconds of the upcoming, Nope. We see Kaluuya, Palmer, and Yeun’s characters all looking into the distance with terrified expressions on their faces that all scream “nope!” to us. With the storyline to Peele’s new film shrouded in mystery, we can only speculate on this first look. While Palmer and Kaluuya’s characters don’t give us much to work with as they are standing in almost complete darkness, Yeun’s character gives us a little bit more. Wearing a cowboy hat and dressed in a red blazer with a white button up shirt and bolo tie, Yeun appears to be in a rodeo ring while he looks on at whatever looms in the distance. Though it’s blurry, it appears that behind the character’s right shoulder, an audience member is getting out of his seat to point at whatever Yeun fears in the sky.

Jordan Peele has been absolutely crushing it since his breakthrough Comedy Central sketch series, Key & Peele, in which he starred and wrote alongside his old Mad TV peer, Keegan-Michael Key. Following the extreme success of their series, the pair teamed up again to create their debut full length film, Keanu. From there, things really took off for the actor turned director.

In 2017, Jordan Peele released his first horror film, Get Out. A hit among viewers and critics alike, Peele earned his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film. Before his next horror film, Us, Peele had a hand in creating the TBS series, The Last O.G. as well as co-producing the film, The BlacKkKlansman. In 2019, Peele released Us, which was another immediate hit for the director. Following the success of Get Out, fans flocked to theaters to see the new film which again, performed well with critics.

While his following has been awaiting Jordan Peele’s next creation, the writer and director has brought viewers a new take on the classic television series, The Twilight Zone, in which he developed as well as narrated. He also produced the notable series, Lovecraft Country, and co-produced and co-wrote the sequel to horror flick, Candyman, through his Monkeypaw Productions. Along with Nope, fans have a new film starring Peele to look forward to. Netflix will be releasing a stop-motion feature that will use the vocal talents of both Peele and Key to tell the story of two demon brothers titled, Wendell and Wild. The film was created and developed by Henry Selick, who is known for his long list of iconic stop-motion films including The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, and Coraline.

Though we don’t know much more about Nope than we did yesterday, the new clip is certainly appreciated. It casts the same shadow of eeriness that Jordan Peele’s other two films are known for. Hopefully, even more information and first looks will be revealed in the upcoming days.
