Jordan Peele’s Next Movie Will Be His Biggest Yet And We Have A Release Date
An Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Jordan Peele has made some serious waves in the film industry during the past decade, with horror movies like Get Out and Us earning wide acclaim for masterfully blending frights and social commentary. With last year’s Nope, the Oscar-winning filmmaker continued his streak of creating thought-provoking genre features that explore complex social issues. Now, Variety is reporting that the 44-year-old director is looking to terrify us again with a new project that’s scheduled to arrive in theaters next Christmas.
According to the outlet, Universal Pictures recently added an Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele to its release calendar. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, approximately one week after the debut of two hotly anticipated threequels: Avatar 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Additionally, Universal locked down a September 27, 2024, release date for an untitled project hailing from Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions.
As expected, the famed filmmaker is being tight-lipped about his fourth movie, but it’s probably safe to say it will likely continue his trend of exploring themes of race and social justice. All three of Jordan Peele’s previous movies have examined topics such as race, identity, and class. Of course, we wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the innovative filmmaker ends up taking a completely different approach with his next project.
Jordan Peele rose to fame after appearing on the comedy series Key & Peele. The show became known for its hilarious and often satirical sketches, which tackled everything from race and politics to pop culture and current events. Peele’s success on the hit program led to his transition into filmmaking.
In 2017, Jordan Peele wrote and directed his first feature film, Get Out, which became a critical and commercial success. The movie grossed over $255 million globally and won Peele an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Additionally, the horror flick nabbed an Oscar nomination for Best Motion Picture and is widely regarded as one of the best genre movies of the 21st century.
Jordan Peele released his second film, Us, in 2019. Starring Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Elisabeth Moss, the movie received generally positive reviews and was another massive box office hit, earning over $255 million worldwide. Once again, the director explores complex themes, including duality and the American Dream.
Last year saw the release of Jordan Peele’s third feature, Nope. Although it didn’t gross nearly as much as his previous two movies, it was still a commercial success. The alien invasion flick, which stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, had an estimated production budget of $68 million and earned over $171 million globally.
In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Jordan Peele is also an accomplished writer and actor. He has appeared in several films and television shows, including Fargo, The Twilight Zone, and Toy Story 4. His production company, Monkeypaw Productions, has produced a number of successful movies and television series, such as Lovecraft Country, The Last O.G., and BlacKkKlansman. With that said, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us with his next project.
