After making his name in comedy, Jordan Peele has reinvented himself as a movie director. He burst onto the horror scene in 2017 with the critically acclaimed Get Out, and since that time, he has seemed very interested in further exploring the genre with his subsequent movies. It looks like that will be true of his next project as well, as it has officially been announced that the next Jordan Peele movie will be arriving just in time for Halloween of 2026.

Jordan Peele’s Low-Key Announcement

Admittedly, an October release date does not necessarily guarantee that the movie will be scary, as plenty of movie genres get slotted for October if that happens to be the best scheduling availability. However, given Jordan Peele’s track record so far, as well as the ominous-looking release date on a black background that Peele posted on X, it seems fair to guess that he has another frightening concept he wants to explore.

Unfortunately, details beyond the fact that a new movie is coming are quite scarce at the moment. We know that the release date for this new project will be October 26, 2026, but that does not provide much to speculate on. However, if Jordan Peel’s previous movies reveal a trend, it seems likely that this new movie will also touch on the themes of racial dynamics in society.

Such themes were the most directly addressed in Jordan Peele’s debut film Get Out, where white characters were extending their lives by having their minds transferred over into black people’s bodies. However, both Us and Nope also featured a largely black cast and touched on elements of racial inequality.

Peele’s Explosive Debut

Another element of Jordan Peele’s films that is of particular note is his level of success as a new director in the world of movies. Get Out was made on a budget of less than $5 million but went on to gross over $250 million around the world. It was also nominated for Best Picture at that year’s Academy Awards.

Every Film Has Turned A Profit

Jordan Peele’s subsequent films have experienced similar levels of success, with Us making over $256 million on a budget of $20 million and Nope making over $172 million on a budget of $68 million. In a time when many movies are struggling to see the same box office returns they might have had years ago, Peele has proven that he is a draw for audiences.

Jordan Peele Doesn’t Miss

Jordan Peele’s next movie was originally supposed to be released this year in December, but the writer and actors strike delayed the ability to complete the film on that original schedule. However, that does not mean he has been idle, as he is still acting as a producer for the film Him, which will be released in September of 2025 and stars Marlon Wayans and Julia Fox.

It might not be the news that fans want to hear that they will have to wait over two more years until another film directed by Jordan Peele, but as production continues, we will undoubtedly hear more details about the movie’s plot and who it will be starring. If it is anything like his prior work, it will assuredly wind up being a movie that gets people talking.
