John Travolta Proudly Shares Trailer For Late Wife Kelly Preston’s Final Movie

John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) has shared the trailer for his late wife Kelly Preston‘s (Jerry Maguire) final movie, Off the Rails, which premiered in the U.K. and Ireland this past weekend. John Travolta wrote that his wife was “very proud” of the comedy and all of the “wonderful” people who worked beside her in front and behind the camera.
Kelly Preston died last July at 57 years old after battling breast cancer for two years. She is survived by John Travolta and their three children, Benjamin, Jett, and Ella. She and her husband were married since 1991. You can see the trailer for her final film appearance in Travolta’s post below.
Off the Rails follows four friends who go on a trip across Europe to recreate a journey in their youth. John Travolta’s late wife Kelly Preston stars with Ben Miller (Paddington 2), Judi Dench (Shakespeare in Love), and Sally Phillips (Veep). The film marks the directorial debut of Jule Williamson, who has previously done TV documentaries like See No Evil. He was joined by writer Jordan Waller (Two Heads Creek).
Sally Phillips made an appearance on the U.K. talk show Loose Women, where she spoke about how she and John Travolta’s wife became friends while filming the comedy. She said, regarding the health issues, that it was kept a secret from the rest of the crew and cast. She used Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Helen McCory (Peaky Blinders) as examples of notable people who have died from cancer and kept it under wraps while working.
John Travolta was not the only one posting on Instagram in honor of his late wife. Jenny Seagrove (A Woman of Substance) posted a picture of her and her co-stars. She wrote that “this is for her” as the film premiered on July 23.
Through Kelly Preston and John Travolta’s careers, before and after getting married, they have starred together in multiple films over the years. In 2018, they were together in the drama Gotti. She had an uncredited role in the 2010 action movie From Paris with Love. The year before, she was in the comedy Old Dogs, which starred John Travolta and Robin Williams. Previously, the couple were in Battlefield Earth in 2000, Welcome to Hollywood in 1998, and The Experts in 1989.
Besides starring with John Travolta in movies, Kelly Preston has had a long career dating back to the 1980s. She was in the Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) movie For Love of the Game with Kevin Costner (Yellowstone), John C. Reilly (Kong: Skull Island), and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash). She was also in Cameron Crowe’s (Almost Famous) Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible), Regina King (Watchmen), Cuba Gooding Jr. (American Horror Story), and Jerry O’Connell (Star Trek: Lower Decks).
John Travolta has taken time to focus on his children as they grieve for their mother by minimizing the jobs he is taking. The actor is currently filming Paradise City as his only scheduled project for the foreseeable future. The action flick will be directed by Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King). It will star Bruce Willis (Die Hard), Stephen Dorff (True Detective), Amber Abara (The White Lotus), and Blake Jenner (Glee).
