John Cena Ties A Grenade To A Tank Shell In The Wild Peacemaker Trailer
John Cena finds grisly new ways to spread "peace" in the new Peacemaker trailer!

One of the best things to come out of the James Gunn version of The Suicide Squad is John Cena playing Peacemaker. His character is essentially an anti-hero that doesn’t believe that he is involved in any wrongdoing. He loves peace so much that he doesn’t care how much carnage he has to cause to get it, including men, women, and children. This proves especially true in the newest trailer for the spin-off Peacemaker series, as the crazed “hero” straps a grenade to a Russian tank shell.
The trailer shows a great deal more of the characters that Peacemaker will align himself with, including a very much alive and animated Bald Eagle. Of course, he has a pet Bald Eagle as a fighting buddy — he believes in peace. Joining John Cena is Robert Patrick of Terminator 2: Judgment Day fame. Patrick is playing Peacemaker’s father Auggie Smith. Also shown in the preview is the more nerdy looking and sounding Adrian Chase aka Vigilante, who is played by Freddie Stroma.
Peacemaker is essentially the “spiritual successor” to James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The trailer shows that same level of comedic action in spades as there seems to be even more crazy fighting, explosions, and wisecracks at the expense of “freedom.” There hasn’t been any sort of reveal as to whether or not any of the other costumed characters will return, but some fans may be hoping that Bloodsport (Idris Elba) returns to finish what he started with Peacemaker. At the very least, fans should be clamoring to see King Shark make his triumphant return.
John Cena has essentially reinvented himself from one of the most popular WWE stars ever, to a hilarious and sought-after action and comedy star. Cena has appeared in Sisters and Trainwreck which helped to catapult his career into one that showcases his ability to be undoubtedly hilarious, and this new Peacemaker series looking nothing short of the same. Cena has most recently appeared as the villain Jakob in the F9: The Fast Saga. He also appeared in Vacations Friends on Hulu, where he played a crazy boyfriend who embarks on a booze, drug, and gun-filled adventure.
John Cena has proven time and time again that he can be one of the strongest and funniest men on the planet, and it only made sense for him to get his own spin-off series that showcases his many talents as Peacemaker. The show is set to premiere on January 13, 2022 on HBO Max, and the excitement is definitely felt by all.
Even though John Cena recently returned to his roots in WWE, he has left plenty of time to remain in the limelight of action and comedy movies. James Gunn directing and wrote the majority of the Peacemaker episodes, though there hasn’t been any news yet on if Peacemaker will be extended past this first season or if James Gunn will make a Suicide Squad 3. We could all do with more Cena being involved with Gunn’s imagination.
