See John Cena And Jackie Chan Team In Hilariously Action-Packed Hidden Strike
John Cena and Jackie Chan work together in upcoming action movie Hidden Strike.
John Cena is at the peak of his acting career right now, and Jackie Chan is an action icon, so it only makes sense to pair these two up for a buddy action-comedy. That’s exactly what we’ll get in the upcoming film Hidden Strike, which just dropped its official trailer on YouTube. You can check out the action-packed trailer for Hidden Strike.
Hidden Strike stars John Cena and Jackie Chan as two ex-special force soldiers who have to work together to escort civilians across the “Highway of Death” in Baghdad. As we see in the trailer, things don’t go super smoothly, and the two action heroes are going to have to deal with quite a few big fights and exploding vehicle chases along the way. We might not know if we’ll get to see Chan again in the Rush Hour franchise anytime soon (although the rumors are swirling), but this seems like the next best thing in the meantime.
Hidden Strike is directed by Need For Speed director Scott Waugh with a script from Arash Amel. Despite starring both John Cena and Jackie Chan, there was a time when it was uncertain if this film would ever see the light of day. Fortunately, it seems like they got things together, and now we’ll get to see the film sometime before the year is over.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the only film we’ll see this year that stars both John Cena and Jackie Chan, albeit they’ll be playing a rhino and a rat in their other upcoming blockbuster. Cena and Chan are lending their voice talents to the upcoming animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which is set to come to theaters on August 2. Chan is fittingly playing the Turtles’ master, Master Splinter, while Cena plays the hardheaded henchman Rocksteady.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem features stunning animation akin to the one seen in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and an incredible voice cast. Along with John Cena and Jackie Chan, the animated film stars Brady Noon as Raphael, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michaelangelo, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Seth Rogen as Bebop, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, Ice Cube as Superfly, Hannibal Burres as Ghengis Frog, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil. Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears co-direct from a screenplay by Rowe, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg.
While Jackie Chan doesn’t have any more projects slated to come out in 2023, we can expect to see more from John Cena before the year ends. Cena’s upcoming 2023 projects include the Margot Robbie-starring Barbie, the animated Looney Tunes film Coyote v Acme, the rom-com sequel Vacation Friends 2, the action comedy Freelance, and the Matthew Vaughn-directed spy flick Argylle. You can also check out Cena’s latest film in the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X, in theaters now.
