See John Cena In The First Look At What Might Be His Funniest Role Yet
Relativity Media has released the first trailer for the upcoming action-comedy Freelance. The story follows Mason Pettis (John Cena), a retired Special Forces operative who is tasked with protecting journalist Claire Wellington (Alison Brie) after a military coup breaks out while she is en route to interview the President of Paldonia (a fictional country).
Freelance will be released in theaters on October 6.
When the Presidential convoy is attacked with Claire and Pettis inside, they are forced to flee into the jungle with the dictator. “I’m with the President of a country in the middle of a coup,” she tells Pettis. “This is the scoop of a lifetime.” He tersely responds with, “You gotta be alive to have the scoop of a lifetime.”
Cena made his debut as a leading actor in 2006’s The Marine.
Freelance is directed by Pierre Morel from a script by Jacob Lentz. Starring alongside John Cena and Alison Brie are Juan Pablo Raba, Alice Eve, Marton Csokas, and Christian Slater. Michael Arrieta, Danny Chan, Court Coursey, Marc Danon, Jaime Hernandez, Walter Josten, Lex Miron, and David Robbins serve as executive producers. Freelance will be released in theaters on October 6.
