Everybody makes silly mistakes, but Jeopardy! contestant Jack Weller just happened to make his on television in front of trivia champ Ken Jennings. During the Second Chance Tournament, Weller was given the clue “Moose” under the “Plurals That Don’t End in S” category, to which he replied, “What are meese?” Of course, the plural of moose is still just ‘moose’, but those watching at home also weren’t competing under pressure to move forward in a tournament that could win them a lot of money.

Not to worry though, despite Weller’s slightly embarrassing setback, he played a great game of Jeopardy! and went into the Final Jeopardy round with a can’t-lose lead. He managed to provide the right answer to the final question and move forward to the semifinal round of the Second Chance Tournament. Presumably, he went home after to brush up on his moose knowledge and grammar skills for the next round.

Jack Weller is going to need all the knowledge he can get, because if he wins one of the two top spots in Jeopardy’s first-ever Second Chance Tournament, he’ll move on to the Tournament of Champions which kicks off on October 31. The 2022 Tournament of Champions will feature 21 of the best contestants from the previous season of Jeopardy!. The first-place winner will take home $250,000 and the bragging rights of winning the legendary trivia contest.

There’s going to be plenty of tough competition at the upcoming Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. Some contestants to watch will definitely be Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, and Mattea Roach who have all been carving their names into Jeopardy! history throughout their runs. Amy Schneider is second place in the record books behind current host Ken Jennings for the most consecutive games won.

While Schenider has a lot to win to overtake Jennings (she’s at 40 while Jennings stands tall with 74 wins in a row) her fellow Jeopardy! competitors aren’t too far behind her. Matt Amodio is at 38 wins in a row and Roach has 23 wins. Elsewhere, Amodio holds another record for the third-highest winnings in regular season play with Schneider holding the fourth-place spot.

Along with the five super-champions (people who won over 10 games in their season), the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions will also feature anyone who won more than four games since the last tournament, the champion from the National College Championship, and the champion from the Professors Tournament. The competition should be pretty fierce this year, so it’ll definitely be worth tuning in if you’re a trivia fan. The tournament will have three different rounds and is set to go through November.

If you find Jack Heller as relatable as the rest of the Internet, you can watch him compete to be in the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions when the two-day Second Chance Tournament final airs on Thursday and Friday. Weller will be going up against Sadie Goldberger and whichever contestant wins today’s round. For a contestant to win the two-day final round of the Second Chance Tournament, they’ll have to have the highest cumulative dollar amount at the end of Friday’s game.
