See Jennifer Lawrence Desperately Trying To Have Sex With A Teenager In A Rated R Promo
Jennifer Lawrence is trying to seduce a 19-year-old at the behest of his parents in the trailer for No Hard Feelings.
For years, Jennifer Lawrence has been known as America’s darling, and it’s for good reason. She’s always charming on her late-night interviews, and she seems to genuinely love what she does whether she’s portraying Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games franchise, blowing up the microwave in American Hustle, or in this case, trying to have sex with a 19-year-old in the upcoming No Hard Feelings movie trailer according to Variety. But don’t let the synopsis fool you, she’s not playing the role of a sexual predator, she was actually hired by the boy’s parents to “date his brains out.”
No Hard Feelings follows Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) in her quest to get her finances in order after getting her car repossessed. This is a crucial catalyst for the plot because she makes a living as an Uber driver. After seeing a classified ad to “date” a 19-year-old named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) put out by his parents, she is tasked with breaking the boy out of his shell, and catapulting him into adulthood before he leaves for college.
The trailer itself is jam-packed with laughable moments that are led by Jennifer Lawrence’s Maddie character, and it’s not your typical rom-com. Whether she’s trying to get Percy to drink for the first time, or go skinny dipping, the boy is clueless about her intentions, and even accuses her of trying to kidnap him. But Maddie is desperate, and the payoff is a new car, and with that, the ability to get her finances back in order so she could save her family house.
In a way, No Hard Feelings is making a huge callback to the kind of raunchy comedy audiences of ’90s cinema expected, most of which have not aged well for obvious reasons. While those films are looked back on as kind of creepy, it’s the willingness of Percy’s parents for this plot to unfold that gives the Silver Linings Playbook star a pass.
It’s also worth mentioning that the story isn’t framed to make Jennifer Lawrence look like a hero like the comedies of decades past. She is clearly at rock bottom, and willing to stoop to the lowest of levels to get ahead in life. She’s foul-mouthed, extremely forward, and willing to humiliate herself to make a very small overall gain.
Think of No Hard Feelings as a cross between Superbad and Family Guy when it comes to Lawrence’s delivery.
It’s also worth noting that Jennifer Lawrence looks like she’s having a lot of fun with the role, and it’s got to be a refreshing change of pace for the actress, considering that she has her fair share of serious roles in her filmography. No Hard Feelings is currently set to premiere on June 23, 2023.
