Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2 Plot Details Revealed?
Jenna Ortega returning to Wednesday Season 2 would see her and Enid's relationship blossom, with the other friendships being tested.
For those who have not seen Jenna Ortega in her new series, you should look away, as there are going to be plenty of Wednesday Season 2 spoilers ahead. The creators of the series, Al Gough and Miles Millar, have revealed the potential plot details they are set to explore, which heavily includes the relationships of all the kids at Nevermore Academy. According to Gough, “We wanna sort of explore and sort of complicate all of those relationships going forward…the school was closed when they left, which gave us the most possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something that we’re excited to explore.”
Gough added, “For us, the show also is really about this female friendship, with Wednesday and Enid really being at the center of that.” Jenna Ortega had previously mentioned she wanted her character to be bisexual, which could mean that Wednesday and Enid develop a relationship with one another in Wednesday Season 2. It would be interesting to see how that dynamic fits into the grander scheme of things, as Wednesday clearly had issues with the many admirers she had in the first season.
Another interesting dynamic that Gough and Millar spoke about, is how Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday interacted with Morticia, and the strained mother/daughter relationship could take more of the spotlight in the potential Wednesday Season 2 plans moving forward. Strangely, Netflix has not yet renewed the series despite it skyrocketing into the #3 most-viewed show in the streaming platform’s history.
We are going to assume that Jenna Ortega will be back for Wednesday Season 2, as she is currently the “IT girl” of Hollywood, not to mention the massive popularity the infamous “Wednesday dance” has received on social media. There have been countless videos of people recreating the dance, creating one of the biggest social media sensations in recent memory. Netflix would be quite foolish if they were to not extend the Burton-led drama by at least another season.
There is so much more to explore in the world as well, including seeing Jenna Ortega reunite with her creepy family in Wednesday Season 2. We only got to see Lurch, Pugsly, Morticia, Gomez, and Uncle Fester briefly, but we would imagine they could play a much larger part in the potential second season. Now that Nevermore is closed, Wednesday is certainly going to have to find somewhere else to get into her hijinks.
For now, everyone is going to have to wait to see if Jenna Ortega will be back for Wednesday Season 2, though we would imagine it’s a safe bet to make. Netflix is known for canceling some of its best shows, but Wednesday has become a cultural phenomenon that cannot be ignored. It nearly beat Stranger Things for the second most-watched series on the platform, which is certainly no easy feat.
Everyone can watch Jenna Ortega on Wednesday right now, as the series is currently streaming on Netflix. Should the streaming platform not make any movement to renew the series, we might have to all hit social media and beg for the show to come back, as social media campaigns seem to work wonders at times. We would also bet on another streaming platform rushing in to save the day if Netflix was foolish enough to let this series go.
