Death Race is a remake of the 1975 feature, Death Race 2000, and stars Jason Statham as Jensen Ames, a man in prison after being arrested for the murder of his wife, a murder he did not commit.

Ames is sent to Terminal Island Prison, where the sadistic warden Claire Hennessey (Joan Allen) offers to let him go if he will participate in the Death Race, to which she will earn more profits.
