See Jared Leto Transforming His Body For Tron
Jared Leto is getting in serious shape for his upcoming role in the new Tron movie.

Jared Leto has been rumored for a potential third Tron film since 2017, and there hasn’t been a new film in the franchise since 2010’s Tron: Legacy, yet by the looks of Jared Leto’s Instagram, it seems as though the third Tron film will be in production fairly soon.
Leto posted a picture of himself already looking ripped to his over 10 million followers on Instagram, with the caption stating, “Starting the Tron workout.” If this is just the beginning, Jared Leto is going to look insanely buff for this next film. It also seems safe to assume that if Leto is working on the Tron workout, the film probably is gearing up for production soon.
Not much is known about this third Tron film, although The Hollywood Reporter said in 2017 that Jared Leto would play a character named Ares. Disney had a different version of Tron 3 in the works before it was canceled in 2015, and apparently the character of Ares was essential to that original film’s script. Yet in a deleted tweet from Jared Leto earlier this year, he said that the name of the upcoming film would be called Tron: Ares.
At this point, anything could be true about this upcoming third Tron, as details are relatively unknown. Disney hasn’t made it clear if Jeff Bridges would return after starring in the first two films, or if the other stars of Tron: Legacy, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, would be making an appearance. Considering Wilde is supposedly working on what is assumed to be a Spider-Woman film, her involvement seems unlikely. But the fact that Jared Leto is also credited as a producer on the upcoming film does seem like a major hint that this new character will be central to Tron 3‘s story.
But even the crew behind Tron 3 seems particularly unusual for this film. Director Garth Davis is probably most well-known for his 2016 Oscar nominee, Lion, and the last screenplay by Jesse Wigutow, who wrote the most recent version of this script, was the 2003 Kirk and Michael Douglas-starring family dramedy, It Runs in the Family.
Considering the last theatrical film Jared Leto has made was 2017’s Blade Runner 2049, it’s surprising just how packed the next few years look to be for the Oscar-winning actor. The John Lee Hancock-directed The Little Things, with Denzel Washington and Rami Malek, is scheduled for release on January 29, 2021, while the delayed Morbius will come out less than two months later on March 19, 2021.
In another Instagram post from August, Leto also announced he had been cast to play Andy Warhol in an upcoming film, a role he had been circling since 2016. It’s also unclear what Leto’s future will be as the Joker in the DC film universe, as his heavily-tattooed gangster version of the character hasn’t been seen since 2016’s Suicide Squad. But for fans looking forward to the future of Tron and where this computer world might go, the near future is looking particularly bright. And ripped.
