Fresh off of playing Titania in the series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, providing the voice for Asencia in Star Trek: Prodigy, and voicing Wonder Woman in DC League of Super-Pets, actress Jameela Jamil has her sights set on landing a Star Wars role. In an interview with Collider, Jamil stated that she’s on her way to a “nerd EGOT” — referencing the term for winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. All she needs to accomplish this, she said, is to land a role in Star WarsSo, she’s hoping for a role in a Star Wars TV show or movie.

All of her so-called “nerd EGOT” roles were released this year, so if Jameela Jamil lands a Star Wars role quickly, then she’ll have succeeded at her goal with breakneck speed — her appearances in the other three franchises have all released in 2022. There are only two other actors who have appeared in all four franchises: Tom Hardy (Venom, The Dark Knight RisesStar Trek Nemesis and The Last Jedi) and Jennifer Hale (Avengers AssembleLegion of Super-HeroesStar Trek: Lower Decks and The Rise of Skywalker).

Jameela Jamil’s Star Wars aspirations come as she has only just begun her acting career. Her first credited acting role was in 2016 when she played Tahani Al-Jamil in the NBC series The Good PlaceAfter that series ended, she provided voices for multiple TV series between 2020 and 2022, including DuckTalesAnimaniacsAmerican Dad, and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

That’s not to say that the actress doesn’t have a long history with television. A full 11 years before Jameela Jamil voiced her Star Wars goals, she appeared on camera as a presenter for the British TV station Channel 4. Specifically, she presented during the teen-focused scheduling slot, T4. Then only 25 years old, she appeared in two episodes along with four annual T4 TV specials called T4 on the Beach. Since then, she has continued to appear as a presenter, host, and panelist in multiple shows, including Entertainment TonightLast Call with Carson Daly, and The Misery Index.

“Nerd EGOT” aside, Jameela Jamil has her sights on more than Star WarsShe appears to have a love for wide-reaching action-focused franchises, regardless of how much geek cred they give her. In the interview, she stated that she wants to appear in the John Wick franchise — a prospect that seems more likely now that the spinoff TV series The Continental has been announced. Jamil is also disappointed that Fast and Furious is ending, saying that she wanted to be involved with the series but apparently didn’t get into acting early enough to land a role.

While it’s unclear whether Disney will grant Jameela Jamil’s Star Wars dream will be granted any time soon, there’s no doubt that the actress has a prosperous career ahead of her. She has most recently appeared in the Peacock original series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, will appear in Rian Johnson’s upcoming mystery comedy-drama Poker Face, and will voice the narrator in the romantic comedy The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.
