Australian actress and author Isla Fisher made a successful transition into the world of acting following her portrayal of Mary Jane in the 2002 film adaptation of Scooby-Doo. She has since featured in many other projects, including nabbing a reoccurring role on the fourth and fifth seasons of Arrested Development. The actress posted a photo on Instagram in Singapore, wearing a tight blue and white bikini. In the pictures, Fisher dives into the clear blue swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. The actress appears to be enjoying the final days of what has been a hot summer across the globe.

Isla Fisher’s breakthrough performance was in the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers, where she played opposite comedic legends, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. Fisher took on the role of a sexually aggressive and precocious young daughter of a politician. When discussing her role with Film Monthly‘s Paul Fischer, the actress revealed that she negotiated to use a body double for one scene involving sexually content. Fisher said that she finds pornographic violence to be “gratuitous and unnecessary than nudity,” which she said is both “peaceful and beautiful.” The 46-year-old appeared in lead roles for her school theater productions before becoming a professional actress. She attended  L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, where she studied the art of musical theatre.

Although Isla Fisher’s role in the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie was small, it did lead to the actress getting attention from those in Hollywood. While promoting another film, the actress spoke with Collider about the opportunities she got after appearing in Scooby-Doo. Fisher noted that she was able to get representation without having to move to Los Angeles, something many newcomers end up doing at the start of their careers. After appearing in Scooby-Doo, Fisher nabbed supporting roles in smaller independent projects for a while until she got the Wedding Crashers gig in 2005.

The actress also has a lot of philanthropy cred on her resume. In 2014 and 2015, Isla Fisher donated her signed shoes for Small Steps Project Celebrity Auction. Fisher and her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, donated $500,000 to Save The Children, an initiative to vaccinate children in Northern Syria against measles. The actress received praise for her work on Arrested Development, which gave her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination in 2014. Fisher also received tons of award nominations for her role in the film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Whether appearing in comedies or pouring her heart out in dramas, Fisher showcases her beauty and radiance on-screen.

When she isn’t enjoying a nice swim in Singapore, Isla Fisher appears in the television comedy Wolf Like Me. Fisher plays a character named Mary, who is an isolated advice columnist recovering from her emotional baggage. The series also stars Josh Gad and has generally received positive reviews from critics. NBC Universal and Peacock renewed the series for a second season in April. As of this writing, there’s no word on when season two will debut. When discussing the renewal, series creator Abe Forsythe expressed her excitement about where the season could go and how it could evolve Fisher’s character.
