Interview With The Vampire Season 3 Canceled Or Renewed?
Alright, all you Anne Rice fans, we finally have the word from AMC that Interview with the Vampire will be returning to suck more blood and feast on more drama with a Season 3 in the works. The first show to come from the network’s so-called Anne Rice Immortal Universe has been a ratings favorite, bringing in audiences with its top-tier cast, excellent adaptation storyline, and visionary style. What’s even better is that fans won’t need to sweat it out after the Season 2 finale, which rises from the grave and onto AMC and AMC+ on June 30.
More Stories Yet To Be Told
As far as what we can expect from Interview with the Vampire Season 3, the show will likely continue to follow in the path set by Anne Rule’s thirteen-book series of the same name. With so many more stories and plots to come from the pages of the beloved novels, the show could go on for well over a decade if AMC plays its cards right and so chooses.
Recounting The Glory Years Of An Undead Life
So far, in the lead-up to Interview with the Vampire Season 3, audiences have been introduced to Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson, Game of Thrones), an immortal bloodsucker who sits down with journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, Succession) decades after the pair chatted for the first time.
With Molloy’s eager ear and pen taking in his every word, Louis recounts his glory years in New Orleans with the love of his life and fellow vampire, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid, The Newsreader). From the triumphs to the heartaches and all the victims in between, Louis lays everything out on the table for the fascinated reporter.
Season 2 Expanded The World
Along with the trio of main characters, Season 2 of the series also featured performances from Assad Zaman (Apple Tree Yard) as Armand, Delainey Hayles (Too Close) as Claudia, and Ben Daniels (Flesh and Bone) as Santiago. As of right now, no casting announcements for Interview with the Vampire Season 3 have been announced, but we can’t wait to see what characters will join the blood-soaked series next.
The Immortal Universe
When it comes to AMC’s takeover of Anne Rice’s collection of dark fantasy stories, Interview with the Vampire receiving a Season 3 renewal shouldn’t come as much of a shock. The network branched out at the beginning of 2023 with the Alexandra Daddario-led Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, which quickly landed a Season 2 order and is now in production.
As for the future of the Immortal Universe, another story is on the way, tentatively titled Anne Rice’s The Talamasca, which will steer away from vampires and witches and focus on the secret society tasked with tracking and destroying magical beings.
Won Over Fans Of The Movie
While some fans of both the books and the Neil Jordan-directed movie that came before it didn’t believe that anyone could play the main characters of Interview with the Vampire better than Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater, and Kirsten Dunst, the show’s Season 3 renewal proves that a series telling is the perfect way to fully capture the deep plot of Anne Rice’s beloved book series. As of right now, no release date has been set for Interview with the Vampire Season 3.
