Iman Vellani’s acting career is already off to a great start as she just took home the Best Performance for a Younger Actor win for the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel at the Saturn Awards. Vellani literally only has Ms. Marvel on her completed IMDb projects, so winning an award for your one and only series (so far) certainly has to be a good feeling. She’s also batting 1000 for wins and nominations since it’s the only award she’s been nominated for so far and she won it.

Iman Vellani brought the character of Kamala Khan to life in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. The series, created by Bisha K. Ali, was praised for its representation of Muslim and South Asian culture, with a plot that explored the real-life India-Pakistan Partition. Along with Vellani, it starred Matt Lintz, Zenovia Shroff, Yasmeen Fletcher, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and more.

Iman Vellani will also reprise her role as Ms. Marvel in the upcoming MCU blockbuster The Marvels. True to the comics, Kamala Khan is a huge fan of Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and this movie will give her a chance to meet her hero. The Marvels also features Teyonah Parris returning as Monica Rambeau and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

We’ll have to wait until July 28, 2023, to see Iman Vellani return as Ms. Marvel in The Marvels. The Captain Marvel sequel is being directed by Nia DaCosta and the cast is rounded out by Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon. Not much is known about the plot at this time, but apparently, it will involve Danvers, Khan, and Rambeau swapping places every time they use their powers.

Presumably, we could also expect to see Iman Vellani reprise her role as Ms. Marvel in one or both of the big Avengers team-up films that are planned for the MCU’s Phase 6 slate of films. Both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars are sure to be major crossover events, so we should expect to see a lot of the heroes being introduced in Phase 4 and Phase 5. It’s also possible that we could see Vellani in the rumored Young Avengers project, which could include characters like Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, America Chavez, Ironheart, and more.

One thing is for sure, we definitely can expect that Iman Vellani will likely be sticking around as Ms. Marvel in the MCU for a while. In the meantime, there are plenty of Marvel projects on the way while we wait to see her again in The Marvels. Before the year is over, Marvel is hitting us with one more movie and a holiday special that will wrap up the fourth phase of the MCU.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the next big project we’ll see, with a release date of November 11. In this film, we should finally find out who will be taking on the mantle of Black Panther after Chadwick Boseman’s passing. After that, you can catch The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special as the Guardians try to kidnap Kevin Bacon on November 25.
