See Hugh Jackman’s Comic-Accurate Wolverine Costume For Deadpool 3
The internet is losing their collective mind after a photo of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine costume was revealed online, giving everyone a sneak peek of what they can expect from Deadpool 3. While everyone knew that the X-Men star would make his return to his most iconic role in the upcoming film, people were not prepared for him to wear the full, comic-accurate costume of Wolverine. And we have to admit, he looks damn good like he walked straight out of the comic book.
Twenty years after X-Men, Deadpool 3 finally brings Wolverine’s iconic yellow suit to life.
In the photo, Hugh Jackman is dressed in the Wolverine costume as he walks alongside Ryan Reynolds in his bright red Deadpool suit. It’s unclear where the two are, but they look ready to take on whatever gets thrown their way.
The real-life Wolverine costume is nearly identical to the one we know and love from the Marvel comic books. It features a full-bodied bright yellow suit, dark blue boots, shoulder cuffs, and gloves, and even includes the bold X on the belt. Just like the comic book’s costume, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine costume has details along his waist and thighs that make his physique look even more toned than it already is.
The one thing missing from the real-life Wolverine costume is his iconic mask: a yellow cap that covers his head and large black wings that extend out from both sides of his face. While the mask makes Wolverine look like a snarling badass superhero, some people have noticed that the black wings look like two Batman coming together to share a kiss. You can be the judge of that.

A Reddit user edited the Deadpool 3 image to include a comic accurate Wolverine costume.
One thing that has been added to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine costume is his long yellow sleeves. In the comic books, Wolverine’s costume does not include sleeves, but rather shows off his exposed muscles. It could be a design flaw, or perhaps Hugh Jackman will flex out of his sleeves (and don the mask) during Deadpool 3 to make the outfit complete.
Hugh Jackman first landed the role of Logan/Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men film, and despite his recurring role in eight other films he never once wore the Wolverine costume. Instead, his character rebelled against the school for mutants and their extravagant costumes, and he chose to wear a simple outfit: blue jeans, a belt, a white tank top, and his dog tags.
Hugh Jackman left Wolverine behind following Logan, but Ryan Reynolds talked his frenemy into putting on the spandex one last time for Deadpool 3.
The 54-year-old actor said goodbye to his role of Wolverine in 2017’s Logan, but Ryan Reynolds was able to persuade him to come back for Deadpool 3. And now that Disney owns 20th Century Fox, it opens the door for other MCU stars like Wolverine, Elektra, and other superheroes from X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil to join Ryan Reynolds on the big screen.
Most importantly, we’re looking forward to the long-awaited duo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman that has been teased for years on and off the screen.
It’s unclear exactly why Hugh Jackman is wearing the Wolverine costume in Deadpool 3, but we look forward to finding out when the movie hits theaters in 2024. Currently, it is expected to arrive on May 3, 2024, if all goes well with the writer’s strike.
