See Hugh Jackman Get Back In Shape For Wolverine Return In Deadpool 3
Hugh Jackman squats and lifts weights as he gets back in shape for his return as Wolverine.
When it comes to Hugh Jackman, the man has really never gotten out of shape. From the silver screen to the stages of Broadway, the Australian actor has always managed to stay true to his time at the gym, forever prepared for what his current and future roles may throw at him. As many of us know, the X-Men star will be reprising his fan-favorite role of Wolverine aka Logan aka James Howlett, in the upcoming Deadpool 3, and thanks to a Twitter post, which you can see below, we’re able to catch a glimpse of what his rigorous training process looks like.
Feeling the burn, Hugh Jackman can be seen in the clip doing squats while holding a massive dumbbell to add weight to every movement. With a “no pain, no gain” attitude, the Flushed Away star crushes his set, making it look much easier than it should. In the caption, the actor wrote that he was “paying for the baguette(s) and butter, tarte tatin and and and,” leading us to believe that he had a weekend filled with pastries and baked delicacies – the perfect cheat day if you ask us.
Catching Hugh Jackman up in the gym just working on his fitness isn’t a very shocking thing for fans of the actor who know that he likes to stay lean and trim. And, since it was announced that his claws would be coming back out for the Deadpool threequel, the performer has been even more serious about getting as cut as possible. As fans know, he and his Deadpool 3 co-star Ryan Reynolds have a bit of a feud (even if it is just for the laughs), so we’re sure that he wants to get extra lean and mean to compete with his fellow star.
As for Deadpool 3, not much is known surrounding the Shawn Levy-helmed feature, but (fingers crossed) filming should kick off very soon. At this point, the title is set to mark the beginning of the MCU’s Phase Six and launch Reynolds’ wise-cracking hero into the franchise universe, meaning that we’ll hopefully be seeing more of him down the line. Likewise, it will be a major move to incorporate Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine into the updated Marvel world and it’s a comeback that we’re eager to see pan out, as the character was killed off in 2017’s Logan.
Along with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, audiences will be treated to Emma Corrin starring as the film’s primary antagonist, as reported by Deadline. The returns of Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beetz’s Domino are definitely in the cards. While we can expect Deadpool 3 to keep pace with the two films that came before it and earn an “R” rating for the character’s language that would make Captain America blush, no plot details have been revealed at this time.
As for Hugh Jackman, the celebrated actor is just coming off a long-run appearing in the leading role of The Music Man on Broadway where he starred opposite Sutton Foster. Now busy getting extra ripped for Deadpool 3, we can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the fan-favorite performer.
