Henry Cavill Officially Making A Spy Movie With Other Huge Stars, Our Scoop Confirmed

From flying through the sky as Superman to battling Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible: Fallout, Henry Cavill is going to star in a spy movie with a long list of A-list stars. Originally, Giant Freakin Robot broke the story, and now a report from Deadline cements our initial findings of the upcoming action movie.
Like we had previously reported, Matthew Vaughn (Kingsmen: The Secret Service) will direct the big-budgeted flick with Henry Cavill. The story will be based on the novel Argylle by author Ellie Conway, her debut book. With the cast and crew put together, filming will begin this August in Europe.
Besides Henry Cavill, plenty of other big names will appear. Our exclusive detailed Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), which was confirmed by Deadline that he would star but not the role he would play. Our sources tell us he will be the head running the show at this spy organization. Other cast members include Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Catharine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), John Cena (The Suicide Squad), and Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction). Making her acting debut will be pop star Dua Lipa, who will also contribute to the score and title track.
The Henry Cavill spy adventure is setting its sights on a franchise with at least three installments. The settings will be in America, London, and other currently unknown locations around the world. The vast number of places fits as the book follows its protagonist, Argylle, as he travels around the world for various adventures. The adaption does not have a title, but it is possible to look to the source material on possibilities.
Besides having some of the biggest names in the industry like Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston, and Sam Rockwell, Vaugn’s team is well established. Penning the script will be Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). That makes both of them well versed with action movies, especially the director who has done superhero spectacles like X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass to both Kingsmen installments. Tagging along with the director to produce are long-time collaborators Adam Bohling and David Reid. The executive producers will include Fuchs, Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach.
Henry Cavill has a busy schedule ahead of him for the foreseeable future. Outside of spy action blockbusters, he has a variety of shows and movies on the horizon. Earlier this year, DC fans got to see him in Zach Snyder’s true four-hour vision of the Justice League. Netflix’s fantasy series The Witcher will return for a second season by the end of this year, which the 38-year-old actor s the lead in. He will also reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2. The British star will appear in the video game Squadron 42 and was recently announced to be in Lionsgate’s reboot of Highlander with director Chad Stahelski (John Wick).
With shooting starting in August, there is no release date is set for now. The book is set to release in 2022 and will be published by Transworld Publishers Ltd., a division of Penguin Random House.
