Star Wars fans have been giddy with excitement ever since Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi returned in his very own Disney+ series. Obi-Wan, now Ben is on the run from the Inquisitors and a certain fellow that goes by the name of Darth Vader. Vader’s choice is being conjured once again by the legendary James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen has also made a sensational return to the role of Star Wars to help bring Vader back to the small screen. Yahoo reports that Christensen is also game for a Darth Vader solo series of his own.

Yahoo cites an interview with ET Canada, who posed the question to Hayden Christensen about whether he would like to get his very own Darth Vader series on Disney+, to which the actor replied; “Yeah, I mean, you know, absolutely.” This was a sentiment the returning Star Wars actor echoed when asked the same by Digital Spy, then the actor responded: “If the opportunity presents itself, I would be all for it. I think this is a character that is very complex, and there’s a lot there to further explore. If the powers that be were so inclined, I would be so excited to get to do so.”

Surely, if Obi-Wan Kenobi proves to be a success then Disney would be foolish not to capitalize on that and grant Hayden Christensen his Darth Vader wish. Vader is a character that captivates the viewer every time he hits the screen, his blistering cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is proof of that. Christensen and Star Wars fans can only hope that a hypothetical Vader series becomes a reality.

Given that Disney+ has become a hotbed of Star Wars spin-offs and prequels, a Hayden Christensen-led Darth Vader series doesn’t sound too far-fetched. Ever since The Mandalorian stole the hearts and minds of Star Wars fans, Disney has gone full-throttle on expanding its Star Wars slate on the streaming service. The Book of Boba Fett, the upcoming Andor and Ahsoka (which Christensen will also reportedly star in) series, and more point toward the notion that more Star Wars series will continue to come in thick and fast.

As well as Hayden Christensen calling for more Star Wars screentime, Ewan McGregor wants to take another run at portraying Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, stating he is open to a follow-up of the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series. It should come as no surprise that both Christensen and McGregor are keen to continue playing their iconic characters so quickly after returning to the role. Both stars have revealed how they have been profoundly affected by the love of fans for the Star Wars prequels, which were tarnished by critics. As well as this, Christensen has said that he found the reprisal of his most famous role “cathartic.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi made its bow on Disney+ on May 27 and will run for six episodes and offers fans the first glimpse of Hayden Christensen’s return to the world of Star Wars. Ahsoka is on its way next year and reportedly will have Christensen involved as well. Given the excitement from fans for Christensen’s return and his own willingness to continue playing Vader, it would be a shame if Disney didn’t go through with a Darth Vader solo series, as the force is most certainly strong with the idea.
