While we can’t say we’ve ever been struck by the physical similarities between Jason Isaacs and Ian McKellen, Instagram user @subi.ozil has once again used their artistic prowess and transformed Isaacs into one of McKellen’s most beloved characters – Magneto. In a colorful post, which you can see above, the fanfic artist showed off his vision of the Harry Potter actor decked out in the villain’s red and purple suit. Complete with a smirk, and the character’s icy blue eyes and white hair, we’re now seeing that Isaacs could absolutely live up to playing everyone’s favorite X-Men silver fox.

Although Jason Isaacs may not be called into action for the MCU’s upcoming Phase 5, we do know that fans of the the X-Men franchise will be treated to seeing the heroes in animated form. What was once known as X-Men: The Animated Series, and one of the most classic cartoons of that time, is now becoming X-Men 97. While not much is known surrounding what to expect from the series, we do know that it will drop on Disney+ at some point in 2023.

As for Jason Isaacs, his most recently announced project sees the actor leading in a Cary Grant centered biopic. The ITV and BritBox International drama will be a four-part series titled Archie after the two time Academy Award nominee’s birth name, Archibald Alexander Leach. Beginning in his early life, the project will follow Grant from boyhood to fame with all the personal and career filled points of drama in between.

Also in the works for the Star Trek star is a project in which he’ll appear opposite Tom Holland. In what will be the first season of an anthology series, The Crowded Room will follow stories of various real-life people who have struggled with mental health issues in one way or another. Along with Jason Isaacs and Tom Holland, the first season, which is pulling much of its story from the Daniel Keyes nonfiction novel The Minds of Billy Milligan, will also star Amanda Seyfried, Emily Rossum, Sasha Lane, Christopher Abbott, and Emma Laird.

Just as busy in the world of film, Jason Isaacs has several other irons in the fire of productions set to come out in the near future. From a biographical flick about record producer Neil Bogart titled Spinning Gold to the sequel to 2018’s sci-fi feature Occupation: Rainfall titled, Occupation: Rainfall Chapter 2, Isaacs is continuing to hop genres. In recent years, the actor has been seen and heard in titles including Creation Stories and Agent Game as well as shows such as Star Trek: Discovery, Sex Education, and The Boys Presents: Diabolical

Coming into many of our lives as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, we think Jason Isaacs has exactly what it takes to step into the role of such an iconic MCU villain. And while we may be kept on the edge of our seats for any future live-action adaptations of X-Men, we can certainly begin the fans’ push for Isaacs to be in the running for Magneto when the time comes.
