Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones 5 Trailer Has Leaked Online
Harrison Ford is back in Indiana Jones 5, which just had its trailer leaked.
Actor Harrison Ford has enjoyed an iconic professional relationship with George Lucas, beginning with his portrayal of Han Solo in the 1970s in the Star Wars series of films, then onto Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981. Starring as the titular Indiana Jones in four films for Lucas and director Steven Spielberg, Ford has made a name for himself for over four decades as he whipped and ran his way to legendary status. The trailer for the new Harrison Ford feature film, Indiana Jones 5, has leaked online and includes some surprising scenes that will indeed make audiences want to see the fifth installment of the famous franchise when it is released next year.
Harrison Ford stars in Indiana Jones 5 for director James Mangold, best known for his work on Logan with Hugh Jackman, Walk the Line with Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix, and Ford v Ferrari with Christian Bale and Matt Damon. The trailer that leaked online was initially shown to select audiences at this year’s D23 Expo and depicts the John Williams score fans have come to know from the franchise. As the character of Indiana Jones, Ford can be seen riding a motorcycle as he tries to catch up with a plane, jumping on cars, and running on top of a train, while voice-overs from actors John Rhys-Davies and Toby Jones can be heard.
The leaked trailer in question also shows Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5 as he is confronted by actor Mads Mikkelsen, who asks, “Who is this man?” to a character played by English actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Waller-Bridge confirms that she is the goddaughter of archeologist Indiana Jones, as the fifth installment will no doubt seek to introduce her character in possibly greater detail than what was done with Shia LaBeouf’s Henry in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The trailer seems to be bringing back some familiar characters while introducing new bad guys.
Harrison Ford’s return to Indiana Jones 5 is a welcome one since the fourth installment debuted in 2008. However, Indiana Jones 5 will be the first film in the franchise not to be directed by Steven Spielberg, but Spielberg has retained the rights to be one of the producers on the currently untitled sequel, based on characters by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman.
Along with those featured in the trailer, which has yet to be officially shown to the general public, the film will also include performances from Thomas Kretschmann, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, and Olivier Richters.
In the run-up to June 2023, when Harrison Ford will be seen reprising his legendary role as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones 5, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Hasbro will be debuting an action figure of the character. The action figure will be a retro style of Indiana Jones holding a whip and wearing his well-known hat, similar to his famous look from the 1980s starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark. The action figure will be released for purchase in Spring 2023 as a way to promote the upcoming Indiana Jones 5.
