Reality Star Surgeon Accused Of Awful Sexual Crimes
Dr. Grant Robicheaux - who appeared on an episode of Bravo's Online Dating Rituals of the American Male - and his girlfriend Cerissa Riley are accused of drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women.
Former reality show star and surgeon Dr. Grant Robicheaux, along with his girlfriend Cerissa Riley, have been accused of drugging and sexually abusing multiple women, as reported by Deadline. Robicheaux previously starred in an episode of the Bravo reality show Online Dating Rituals of the American Male in 2014 and now allegedly uses online dating apps in order to meet his victims.
Grant Robicheaux and Cerissa Riley are currently awaiting a judge to determine if there is enough evidence for the pair to go to trial, and they both claim not guilty to the accusations. The couple claims to be swingers and asserts that all acts were consensual. Meanwhile, two women who testified at an Orange County hearing this week alleged that they were assaulted by the couple.
Prosecutors have reportedly interviewed at least 13 individuals claiming to be victims of Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend. Initially, Robicheaux was charged with harming seven victims while his girlfriend faced charges related to five individuals, however, on June 15, an Orange County judge reduced these charges, so the couple is now only facing allegations from two alleged victims.
Additionally, prosecutors requested the dismissal of three firearms enhancements against the couple, along with the reduction of four felony drug possession charges to misdemeanors.
While an independent review revealed that some allegations against Grant Robicheaux could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, prosecutors have chosen to concentrate their efforts on a 2017 sexual assault charge against the defendants, with the inclusion of new allegations involving drug use in that specific incident.
The accusations against Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend Riley depict them as sexual predators who allegedly preyed on vulnerable women. According to the prosecution, during this specific 2017 incident, Robicheaux met the victim online through a dating app and engaged in conversation until the victim was comfortable meeting him in person on a date. On the date, Robicheaux’s girlfriend Riley appeared and posed as a friend of Robicheaux’s, and the three continued to hang out.
Next, the prosecutors claim that Grant Robicheaux and Riley spiked the victim’s drink before they took her back to their home to commit acts of sexual assault. They further allege that cocaine and PCP were given to the woman. Robicheaux and Riley deny the charges, claiming innocence and claiming that all acts were consensual.
The woman who was allegedly drugged and assaulted is described to be in her 20s and claims that she was drugged to the point of being unconscious and woke up in Grant Robicheaux’s house while she was being assaulted. The victim says that she ran to the bathroom, where she locked the door and remained inside until the morning.
The court is waiting on the judge to make a decision on whether certain charges will be dismissed. This will determine the direction of the case. If the prosecution’s wishes are granted, the focus will shift to this particular incident from 2017, where Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend administered drugs to incapacitate the victim, making her unable to resist sexual assault.
On July 9, a judge will determine if there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
