Grant Gustin Confirms Whether Or Not He’ll Be In The DCU’s The Flash
Grant Gustin says he will not appear in the upcoming The Flash movie.
After facing several delays, The Flash is finally set to arrive in theaters on June 16. Despite speculation that Grant Gustin, known for portraying the Scarlett Speedster on the CW’s hit series The Flash, will show up in the upcoming film, the 33-year-old actor has denied having a role in it. During a recent interview with TV Line, Gustin stated that he is not involved in the movie in any way, shape, or form.
While discussing his excitement for the hotly anticipated superhero picture, which stars Ezra Miller as the titular character, Grant Gustin was asked whether he will appear in The Flash in any capacity. “There have been a lot of rumors out there for a long time, and no one’s, like, come out and asked me,” he said. He added that he often gets approached in public and questioned about his participation in the movie, but he clarified, “I’m not keeping some big elaborate secret.”
Rumors of Grant Gustin potentially appearing in The Flash movie began circulating after Ezra Miller appeared as his version of the titular hero in an episode of the CW’s television show. This crossover led fans to wonder whether Gustin’s version of the character would make a cameo in the upcoming film. Sadly, it seems that the actor won’t be joining Miller’s portrayal of the character in his cinematic journey.
Although Grant Gustin won’t be appearing in The Flash, there are still plenty of other actors confirmed to have cameos in the film, including Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, who will reprise their roles as their respective versions of Batman. Additionally, Gal Gadot is also expected to make an appearance in the film as Wonder Woman, along with Michael Shannon, who reprises his role as General Zod from Man of Steel.
Despite Grant Gustin’s absence from the forthcoming movie, fans can still enjoy his portrayal of The Flash in the final season of the CW’s popular television series. Gustin’s version of the character has been a fan favorite since the show premiered in 2014. The ninth and final season of the series is currently airing and is slated to conclude on May 4.
The Flash has been a critical success for the CW, thanks in large part to the talented cast and crew who bring the show to life. Grant Gustin has been praised for his portrayal of Barry Allen, the mild-mannered forensic scientist who gains superhuman speed after being struck by lightning. Over the course of the series, Gustin’s portrayal of the character has evolved as Barry grapples with his powers and the challenges that come with being a superhero.
The Ezra Miller-led film is scheduled to arrive in theaters three weeks after fans say goodbye to Grant Gustin’s version of the character on the CW series. The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti, will see Barry Allen using his speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without superheroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future. Along with Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, and Gal Gadot, the film stars Michael Shannon, Kiersey Clemons, Temuera Morrison, Ron Livingston, Sasha Calle, Antje Traue, and Sean Rogers.
