Grant Gustin On Rumors He’s Secretly In The Flash Movie
Grant Gustin says he will not appear in The Flash.
When Grant Gustin was asked if he will make an appearance in the new The Flash movie, his response was a simple and straightforward “No,” during an interview with TV Line. This has officially squashed all the rumors that Grant Gustin would appear in the new movie, unless he’s just really good at lying.
Grant Gustin has been playing Barry Allen as The Flash for the past nine years on the CW TV show. The 33-year-old actor was cast as The Flash back in 2014 and has been the face of the TV show for the last nine seasons. A few of his fellow co-stars include Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, and Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon.
While The Flash movie is coming to theaters this June, fans have been speculating that Grant Gustin could make a small appearance in the film, much like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield made an appearance alongside Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, with so many other appearances from big-name actors and the uncertainty of Grany Gustin’s future as The Flash, it makes sense why he may not make the cut.
While the controversial Ezra Miller will play the lead role of Barry Allen in The Flash movie, they will be joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, Michael Shannon as General Zod, and Michael Kheaton also as Batman as he reprises his role from the classic 1988 and 1992 films. Recent news also found that Gal Gadot will make an appearance in The Flash as Wonder Woman.
The Flash movie will differ quite a bit from Grant Gustin’s TV show, since the show mainly focused on Barry Allen’s super speed power, allowing him to fight crime in Central City as Flash. The DC movie will step things up a notch as Barry Allen breaks through time and space with his speed, leading him to a new dimension where he needs to help Batman fix some problems in the past. With a budget of $200 million, we can most likely expect to see a lot of cinematic action and wild special effects that surpass the TV show.
As The Flash comes to theaters to start its franchise journey, we will say goodbye to the CW TV show of the same name. After running for nine years, the series finale will take place on Season 9, Episode 13, on May 24, 2023. This will bring an end to the Arrowverse, along with the rest of its shows like Arrow, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow.
While Grant Gustin will not make an appearance in The Flash movie, we remain hopeful that he will replace Ezra Miller in the franchise going forward. Ezra Miller has been under fire due to his legal battles over burglary and larceny, along with a few abuse allegations. To keep DC’s image positive and avoid any unwanted controversy (like Disney), they may want to cut ties with the young actor and replace him with Grant Gustin, who is already very comfortable and familiar with the role of The Flash.
