They're back in a very different kind of story.

Maisie Williams and Freddie Highmore will be teaming up to tell a stranger-than-fiction story of kidnapping, beauty queens, and Mormons. The two are co-starring in the upcoming film Sinner V. Saints, which will be directed by Tim Kirkby (Veep, Fleabag). The script was penned by Jill Hoppe. Mark Williams and Andriana Williams are on as producers.
Sinner V. Saints will star Maisie Williams as the eccentric Mensa beauty queen who kidnapped a Mormon missionary in the 1970s and who has to go to great lengths to keep the Mormon church from stealing back her new sexual obsession. Freddie Highmore will be playing the Mormon missionary. While the premise might sound strange, it’s even stranger that it’s based on a wild true story. The script is based on the book Joyce McKinney and the Case of the Manacled Mormon by Anthony Delano and the international news story that reported the tale as it developed.
Right now, Maisie Williams and Freddie Highmore are the only cast members announced. Williams is fresh off her TV mini-series Pistol, which has completed production and is set to premiere its first episode on May 31. Pistol is based on the memoir of Sex Pistol’s guitarist Steve Jones. The show will follow their rise during the punk revolution in the UK. Maisie Williams will be starring as punk fashion icon Jordan Mooney, who worked at the store SEX where Sex Pistols was formed and performed for many years. The show also stars Dylan Llewellyn, Louis Partridge, Emma Appleton, Anson Boon, Toby Wallace, Sydney Chandler, and many more.
Maisie Williams also has another biopic show lined up, with The New Look, which will follow the rise of fashion designer Christian Dior. Ben Mendelsohn is playing Christian Dior, Williams will play Catherine Dior, and Juliette Binoche is playing Coco Chanel. Interestingly, Williams will also be returning to the world of Game of Thrones with an upcoming video game called MultiVersus. MultiVersus will be a crossover fighting game that features characters from across the Warner Bros. universe, including Arya Stark, Harley Quinn, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Superman, and more.
Freddie Highmore has been keeping busy with The Good Doctor. The Good Doctor is currently airing episodes for its fifth season where Highmore plays a young autistic surgeon with Savant syndrome. Highmore has starred in 94 episodes of the series with more to come. In addition to co-starring with Maisie Williams in Sinner V. Saints and continuing his work in The Good Doctor, Highmore has another project in the works with The Canterville Ghost. The Canterville Ghost will be an animated film that follows a family who moves in to the Canterville Chase, a mansion that has been haunted by Sir Simon De Canterville for centuries.
Sinner V. Saints is set to start filming in the US and the UK in 2023. This means we probably won’t be seeing a release date until at least 2023 and potentially beyond. To keep up with Sinner V. Saints, Maisie Williams, and Freddie Highmore, make sure to stay tuned to GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT.
