Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Is In Shazam 2?

After the constant speculations about Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman appearing in the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods, another DC superhero’s name has joined the mix. As per a recent report, Gal Gadot is all set to reprise her role as the Amazonian warrior Diana Prince, a.k.a. Wonder Woman. This time around, it’s said that she’ll be joining Zachary Levi’s titular character in Shazam 2.
As reported by The Illuminerdi, Shazam 2, the much-anticipated sequel to 2019’s blockbuster Shazam!, will feature a cameo by Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. From a logical point of view, this does seem to make sense. The upcoming DC film will see Billy Batson going up against the three daughters of the mightly Atlas. We know them to be Helen Mirren as Hespera, the oldest sister; Lucy Liu as Kalypso, the second daughter; and Rachel Zegler who will be playing a yet unnamed third daughter of the Greek God.
In this particularly tough fight, Billy and his family of superheroes will need all the help they can get, and who is better than Gal Gadot’s Diana? She is a daughter of Zeus and even has experience fighting a God gone rogue i.e., Ares whom she defeated in the first Wonder Woman film. Also, as Diana has been fighting mythological forces since her DC Extended Universe debut, she will fit right in for Shazam 2, a movie expected to also feature harpies, manticores, dragons, and cyclopes in addition to the three angry daughters of Atlas.
As the outlet states that she will be joining the film in a cameo appearance, fans eagerly awaiting Shazam 2 can rest assured that the bigger fight will still be fought by Billy. It has been confirmed that Wonder Woman 3 will see Gal Gadot’s character going about her superhero duties in the present day, thus her reported cameo in Shazam 2 could serve as an entry point debuting Diana in the current era. Maybe she will sense the mega godly tussle i.e., Billy (who is channeling powers of different Gods) vs the daughters of Atlas and drop in to extend a helping hand to the former.
In the past, Gal Gadot has appeared in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Wonder Woman 1984. If she does appear in Shazam 2, it will be her fifth outing as the Amazonian warrior. But again, Warner Bros. has been keeping details about the film under tight wraps and there is yet to be an official confirmation about Gal Gadot’s presence in the film. Till then, it is best to hold on to our hopes and take this rumor with a grain of salt.
While news about Gal Gadot’s future appearances in the DCEU is on a brief hiatus, for now, she is set to appear in a number of highly awaited projects. She is set to play the character of Cleopatra, the powerful Egyptian leader, in an upcoming film named after the famous queen. Gadot will also be seen in Disney’s live-action adaption of the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as the Evil Queen and is also a part of the upcoming mystery thriller, Death on the Nile. After getting her own superhero film series, the actress will be next seen playing an elite spy in Heart of Stone, an original international spy thriller “that endeavors to put a female spin on action franchises like Mission: Impossible and 007.
