If you’ve been following the MGM+ series, From, you know that Season 2 ended in a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving fans guessing about the implications. Season 3 will hopefully answer some of those lingering questions and tie up some of those loose ends as the mystery of the town continues to unravel. With the new trailer out, the next season of From looks like it will continue to terrify its audiences with things that go bump in the night.

Set in an unnamed small town in middle America, From tells the story of a group of people mysteriously trapped in the town, unable to leave its confines. Worse yet, there are monsters that come out at night, tricking people into getting close to them and leaving no survivors.

Most of the conflict in From is created by the desire of the residents of the town to escape the place and live their lives in the outside world, away from being stalked by their nocturnal tormentors.

The forces at work aren’t clear to the residents of the place, and they make do with what they have, creating their own society and banding together to keep each other alive. From Season 3 will continue to reveal the secrets of the town and deliver a truly scary experience for the audience.

Most of the conflict in From is created by the desire of the residents of the town to escape the place and live their lives in the outside world, away from being stalked by their nocturnal tormentors. Until the end of Season 2, though, escape was mainly seen as a pipe dream, as no one had ever been able to accomplish it. With the massive cliffhanger allowing audiences to wonder if escaping the town is an attainable goal, From Season 3 is sure to expand on this thread and explore the option of freedom for the townspeople.

The desolate, lonely setting of the town in From Season 3 is actually a set that was constructed especially for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. The site was originally a military town created to house workers at a radar base but was demolished in 2004, leaving only the pavement behind. The remaining roads and sidewalks were the perfect foundation for the set of the show to be built on, requiring little demolition and no grading to make the site ready for filming.

Harold Perrineau in From Season 3

The producer team of Jeff Brinker and Jack Bender behind Lost also produces From, and the twisty, mind-bending storyline has a similar sense of supernatural/sci-fi mystery. The lead character, Boyd Stevens, is also played by a major Lost actor, Harold Perrineau, who will return for From Season 3. The connections between the two series go deep, with some commentators wondering if From will develop similar issues to Lost, leaving some of the central mysteries of the series unsolved.

In addition to much of the returning cast, we will also see two new characters for Season 3, Henry Joy as Henry, a curmudgeonly student of the school of life, and Samantha Brown as Acosta, an overwhelmed new cop on the beat in the small town. Since the town is inescapable once you’ve entered, there likely won’t be too many guest stars for the upcoming season.
