Freddie Prinze Jr. Is Done With Star Wars Because Of Sex
Freddie Prinze Jr. is done with his Star Wars voice-acting role, since the franchise doesn't have sex.
Freddie Prinze Jr., who voiced Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, told internet personality Kristian Harloff that he is done with the Star Wars franchise. According to the Scooby-Doo star, there isn’t enough sex in Star Wars, but apparently, there is in Star Trek.
While Freddie Prinze Jr. feels that there is not enough sex in Star Wars, fans of the original series may beg to differ as they still cringe at the fact that Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker shared a passionate kiss despite being related. When it comes to other sexy, intimate moments, Freddie Prinze Jr. is right that there’s hardly any sex in the Star Wars films. We know that Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala had sex, as did Han Solo and Leia Organa, but that’s about it.
When it comes to Star Trek, the creators have been much more open and freer about sex in the series. Most notably, in one of the best episodes of Star Trek, “Amok Time”, Spock literally needs to have sex or else he will die. That’s quite the contrast from the more PG world of Star Wars.
When Freddie Prinze Jr. joined Kristian Harloff on his show, the two friends caught up on everything from Star Wars to I Know What you did Last Summer to the recent reboot of She’s All That. The two also discussed Freddie Prinze Jr.’s love for the WWE and his new podcast, Wrestling with Freddie. This is in addition to his other podcast, That Was Pretty Scary where he and co-host Jon Lee Brody break down all sorts of classic horror movies like Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, and Psycho.
Since Freddie Prinze Jr. is not interested in reprising his role as the Star Wars character Kanan Jarrus, it seems likely that the character will not make a return to the franchise. Despite sacrificing his life to save his loved ones, fans seem to think that the character could still come back to life or be featured in flashbacks in upcoming Star Wars films. This is likely inspired by the voice appearance of Kanan Jarrus in The Rise of Skywalker as he encouraged Rey to find her strength during an epic battle.
Even without reprising his role in the Star Wars franchise, Freddie Prinze Jr. still has a lot on his plate. In addition to his two previously mentioned podcasts, he is about to start filming a new movie called Girl in the Pool that will also star Holland Roden, Kevin Pollack, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. It is also rumored that he will join his fellow co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer film, which will either be a reboot or a sequel to the original 1997 film.
And lastly, Freddie Prinze Jr. is still playing the role of father to his two young kids, Rocky James Prinze and Charlotte Grace Prinze, alongside his Hollywood sweetheart and former co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
