Fortnite Is Planning A Terminator Crossover
The latest rumors have Fortnite users excited with word that the game will soon include a Terminator crossover into the mix

Fortnite has taken the video game world by storm over the last few years with a game that’s easily accessible and extremely competitive. It continues to push boundaries in how it approaches its style and how it brings new concepts into the *world* without ever-changing all that much about what has made, and makes, it so popular. And there are new rumors out there that the game will possibly tie in another popular brand for users. That’s because it looks like the Terminator franchise will begin to work its way into Fortnite.
The first rumor of the Fortnite folks bringing in the Terminator franchise came when Twitter user @HYPEX claimed to have figured out a new portal that looked conspicuously like a scene from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It appeared very much like the Cyberdyne building interior that the crew of Sarah Connor, John Connor and the T-101 eventually blow up to stop the machine production. Here was that tweet:
But then later in the day the Fortnite/ Terminator crossover was all but confirmed when they (possibly accidentally) revealed new skins for the game. Those are going to include that of Sarah Connor as well as a T-800. The latter is the *traditional* robot skin we see in a lot of future scenes from the movie. It’s the metal robot without the human skin layered over top of it. It’s typically used in scenes that involved future fighting in which the machines are no longer trying to disguise themselves.
The images for the new Fortnite and Terminator crossover were available in the Playstation store. Sarah Connor very much looks like the Linda Hamilton, tactical gear-and-all version that we saw in that aforementioned scene when they take down the lab at the end of Judgment Day.
The timing of the new release hasn’t been announced so it isn’t exactly when Fortnite will release the new Terminator skins into the game. This new information on the crossover was mostly a leak, likely coming out at least a little before Epic Games wanted the information out there. They haven’t released an official trailer or made any concrete announcement about things yet. It was all through Twitter speculation and the graphics *accidentally* going into the store.
Fortnite’s Season 5 has already been filled with a ton of cool crossovers thus far, giving players a bunch of different, and popular, skins to jump into. Those include, but aren’t limited to, The Mandalorian, Walking Dead, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Green Arrow, and many more. It’s been a core component of their strategy to continue rolling popular characters into the game to attract and retain more and more players. Again, the actual gameplay doesn’t change all that much, but the look is constantly being updated.
Fortnite continues to be one of the most popular games out there and adding franchises like Terminator to the mix should only continue it along that path. While we’re still waiting on official word about this latest release, no doubt players are chomping at the bit to get in on the action.
