Florence Pugh made a name for herself in the family wrestling comedy Fighting With My family and cemented her superstardom thanks to appearances in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and Marvel’s Black Widow. Her next film is director Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, where Pugh will star opposite pop sensation, Harry Styles. However, according to ScreenRant, Pugh is potentially feuding with her latest director.

Screenrant’s report states that aside from appearing at the premiere for Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival, Florence Pugh will remain absent from the rest of the film’s press tour. Fuelling rumors that the actress has fallen out with her director Olivia Wilde. These rumors started to swirl following the release of the film’s trailer, which seemed to make a point of focusing on sex scenes within the movie. Pugh was reportedly critical of the sexualization within the film’s marking and publicly made comments about how she was tired of speaking about her and Harry Style’s sex scenes in the movie, concerned that her character was reduced to being sexualized and the entire film wasn’t being spoken of, as opposed to the movie as a whole.

Another possible reason behind Florence Pugh and Olvia Wilde having an alleged feud can also be attributed to Styles. The singer and Wilde have been in a romantic relationship that began during the filming of Don’t Worry Darling. According to Page Six, Pugh wasn’t happy with the relationship forming on set with an insider telling the news site that the actress was unhappy the relationship alleged formed whilst Wilde was still with her ex-partner Jason Sudekis. As well as this, several Instagram posts made by Wilde promoting the movie have gone ignored by Pugh and the actress has instead been focussing on promoting her other projects, such as Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Florence Pugh isn’t the only thespian to have been caught in a conflict with Olivia Wilde over Don’t Worry Darling. Shia LeBeouf, who was originally cast in the role that Harry Styles now occupies within the film, was removed from the project early doors, but Variety reports that LeBeouf wasn’t forced out of the project, but in fact, quit of his own volition. Wilde had a cover story with Variety in which she claimed she ousted LaBeouf from the project and in response LaBeouf forwarded Variety emails that he had sent to Wilde with his side of the story. The actor claimed he wasn’t fired, but quit the film as he and his co-stars couldn’t find sufficient time to rehearse.

Don’t Worry Darling follows a 1950s married couple portrayed by Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, whose life turns mysterious thanks to the work of Pugh’s on-screen husband Styles. The film is set to hit theatres on September 23rd and it will be intriguing to see whether the alleged feud has had an effect on the overall project. However, with Florence Pugh busy filming the sequel to Dune, perhaps her absence from the Don’t Worry Darling press tour is simply a case of scheduling and this feud is all a fabrication.
