We are now just two weeks away from meeting the beloved bounty hunter, Boba Fett (Temuerra Morrison), and his trusted assassin, Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) in Disney+’s The Book of Boba Fett. And in order to keep the palpable excitement around the series buzzing with energy, a new teaser trailer has been shared, featuring a determined Fennec Shand who is ready to stick by Boba’s side and fight his wars along with him.
Titled “Ready,” the short teaser presents Boba Fett and Fennec Shand in Jabba the Hutt’s palace as they survey Tatooine, the galaxy’s criminal epicenter. Boba wants to be different from Jabba and rule the planet with respect instead of using fear as a weapon. But Fennec reminds him that given the full-scale war they are facing in their mission to conquer the planet’s criminal empire, fear is inevitable. As she fights a group of assailants, we hear her telling Boba that this is just “the first wave” and there will soon be a war. Looks like just killing Bib Fortuna will not be enough to make way for the bounty hunter in The Book of Boba Fett. Check out the teaser below:
A previously released The Book of Boba Fett trailer had also confirmed that while Boba ascending to the throne in Jabba the Hutt’s palace in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale did seem to secure his control over the planet’s criminal underworld, things will not be so easy for him. Boba and Fennec will have to face more hurdles, face off against the biggest criminals in the galaxy, and embark on many dangerous missions to establish their complete dominance over the planet.
There are many mysteries about the green-armored bounty hunter that fans expect The Book of Boba Fett to solve. Undoubtedly, the biggest question is how Boba Fett survived the deadly fall in the Sarlacc Pit after being hit by a blinded Han Solo in Star War: Episode IV- Return of the Jedi. Another recently released teaser has seemingly answered the question as in the 30-second trailer, Boba is remembering the time when he was left for dead and we see him recovering in a tank. It looks a lot like the bacta tank where Luke Skywalker was put in to recover from the wounds he suffered on the planet of Hoth.
Recently, The Book of Boba Fett actress Ming-Na Wen courted a little social media ire when she shared with Entertainment Weekly that she “convinced” Dave Filoni to bring back her character who was left for dead by Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin in Season 1 of The Mandalorian. Wen took to Twitter to clarify the situation and explained that she “merely suggested to Dave jokingly” that Fennec Shand survives. Like everyone, she was equally surprised and happy when it was decided to reveal that her character not only lived but also joined hands with Boba Fett.
The Book of Boba Fett will be directed by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Dave Filoni. Favreau, Filoni, Rodriguez, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are also on board as executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, along with John Bartnicki as the producer and John Hampian as co-producer. The seven-episode series is set to debut on Disney+ on December 29.
